What's the meaning of "love"?
Funny that "Love" should be discussed on RSVP... This time, think of it in terms of tennis! There are many theories on why, in tennis, a zero is referred to as "love". Does anyone have the real answer for this? There are many, many theories. One of the most common thoughts is that it is said to be an altered form of the French word l'oeuf meaning "egg", for the reason that an egg has a round shape like a zero. What do you think? Seeing that court tennis originated in 14th century France, this is rather plausible, no?
