Vampire Romance is undead

If you have been living under a rock beneath the sea, then you won't know what I'm talking about. For all the other 'day walkers', you'll know exactly what I mean. Vampires are an incredibly popular subject to write about, especially of late.But this is no new craze, it seems the movement comes and goes and has done so since Bram Stoker's classic Dracula was first published in 1897. Since then, vampires have become more romantic, rather attractive and emotional creatures, fighting their bloody cravings to live in harmony with their mortal love-interests.

Kylie, Whoopi Goldberg, Jools Oliver, Jamie Lee Curtis and even the wholesome Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Madonna have tried their hand at writing children's story books. What is it with the celebrities thinking they can sell just about anything? Most of the above would not strike me as being the ideal candidates for writing books targeted at children (or writing books, full stop!). What do you think?

The expression "Don't judge a book by its cover" has been used for centuries. Have you ever actually considered how authors and booksellers feel about this phrase? Let's take this saying quite literally for a moment and find out if it really is unimportant what the cover of a book looks like. Surely you've been in a bookstore and picked up an unknown title because the cover was attractive to you or intriguing in some way?
