Golf not for Girls?

The stereotype around Golf is that it is a guy's' thing. A typical Golf course setting is usually a picture of lads rolling in with their stash of cheap beer for a weekend golf trip. Golf is also characteristically linked with retired men. Do you find this to be true? To get a better idea - when you think of golf, usually the thought of plaid pants, sweater vests, flat caps (all of which are predominantly male forms of clothing) spring to mind.

At 53 years of age, Greg Norman has moved up in the World Golf Rankings after this year's British Open Championship - 480 places up! The No.1 spot is currently held by 32 year old Tiger Woods, who first earned the title as a 21 year old child prodigy. So, is professional golf today reserved for the celebrity pin-ups and young guns? Tiger, and the likes of 28 year old Aussie, Adam Scott, bring the average age down amongst the world's top male golfers.
