Is Your Star Sign True to You?

Starsigns.jpg
How can it be that with all the millions of Librans in the world, all of them posses the same 'balanced' personality, according to astrologers? Do all the Cancerians of the world really wear their heart on their sleeve? Aren't we all individuals?

Whilst it is hard to deny that our horoscope readings can sometimes be completely true to life, how close do you find your sign to be to your own personality? Have you analysed people against their star signs to learn more about them? What did you find? How accurate do you think those distinguishing descriptions of Taureans being the 'stubborn' ones? Ever caught yourself making assumptions about people based on what you know about their star signs?

I have visited clairvoyants too, but I have been told that although there are things that will happen in my life, I must not put any timelimits on it, as it will happen when it is meant to.

My daughter told me that she had 95% of her predictions come true through the year...which is pretty good

I recently had my birth chart done by an astrologer, and for someone who has visited Clairvoyants etc for many years, I found the astrologer's reading to be quite different, in that it was based on a chart which took several days to compile using time/place of birth plus dates etc.
Whereas if a clairvoyant predicts something will happen in March for example, if it doesn't happen - they say 'Oh well I meant March next year.'
Conversely the astrologer was spot on about everything, and readings were more mathematically/scientifically based - predictions being made about specific times/months etc. I'm convinced she was 'kosher.'

that's why I didn't place a post, didn't want to sound like a know it all, but I am a picean, with leo in midheaven and scorpio rising, in the house of aquarius......well so I have been told by an astrologer....yep I reckon I fit the mould :)

What many people do not know is that Sun signs are not the be-all and end-all of ones makeup. Each individual has also a Moon sign and an Ascendant sign. In addition to that, there will be different placements of each planets within their respective houses, all going in their respective directions. I don't know if anyone else has already touched upon this in the posts below, so excuse me if i sound like a know-it-all.

Vedic astrology places a great deal of importance on the compatibility of all elements within two peoples charts. so it's fairly common for two people in subcontinental asia to have their charts 'matched' prior to marriage.

I have just had a quick read over a few bloggs, and I would like to say just a few things.

Firstly any astrologer will tell you a "star sign" is only a sun sign, IE: what sign of the zodiac your sun was placed on at a certain time and a certain day you were born.

Secondly, To fully appreciate a persons destiny or personality you need to then look at what sign of the zodiac all the other planets fall based on the time, date and place you were born and then what "houses" they then fall.

So yes it is a little more intricate than just saying, "oh, she's a Sagittarian so she must be fun and loud, or he is an Aries so he must be the most selfish, full of himself person in the world.

Food for thought :-)

This Chinese astrological garbage takes away free will and makes people celestial, bestial puppets. What could be a possible mechanism for the energy souces and organisation that are supposedly responsible for maintaining peoples personalities?

Papal advisor, Francesco Guicciardini (1483-1540) wrote How happy are the astrologers if they tell one truth to a hundred lies, while other people lose all credibility if they tell one lie to a hundred truths.

dog50.This is my first entry.the chinese horoscope is about 95 percent accurate.numerology also plays an important role.As for the dog as an example. One needs to look for a partner 4 years apart.Born in 58.A tiger born in 62 or a horse born in 66 and then a dog again 70.You can still at the end of the day have a very happy life with one not suited provided you put the effort in the relationship.Unless its your complete opposite. In my case its the dragon. No offense to dragons. Just a promblem i have been trying to work out [changing the subject].I wonder how many of you out their who have children have similar western star signs to the mother or father within the household. Its just that 1 of my children is the same as me and the other 2 the same as their mum. Just curious.I also want to appologies as i am one of those guys who doesnt reply to kisses. But in my defense im still trying to learn how to use this computer let alone how to put my photo on.Thankyou ladies for spending the time and interest.Hope i can get my act together soon.

I hope your yard projects are going well guys.

Now, is my star sign true to me? It depends on how you look at it ... While I was working at a newspaper in Queensland, the receptionist there wrote the horoscopes.

She asked us all what our star signs were and wrote especially for us. One guy there was a bit miserable at the time so she wrote that he would have a very good week and he did. She was good like that.

I must admit that I don't like being in "survival jeopardy" as mentioned on this site in regard to Taureans, but who does like difficult times?

One more thing if you use the builder plastic to cover your new areas it also control the weeds before you plant the area out

Posted by: outbackdrifter at October 14, 2008 4:43 PM

Posted by: amberlight58 at October 14, 2008 1:56 PM

Amber, you can rent a small one cheaply, it only breaks up the top few inchs which is all you need, as for your water, put a long hose on your washing machine outlet & water your new areas, you can also water it down then cover with some builder plastics to hold the water in where you want it.

Posted by: outbackdrifter at October 14, 2008 4:32 PM

Thanks OBD,
Not sure about the rotary hoe, but I will dig in the other stuff with the gypsum.
Sadly, it didn't even rain the other night after all, so I will have to keep watering it in. Can only use the hose on Saturdays, though!

Posted by: amberlight58 at October 14, 2008 1:56 PM

Posted by: amberlight58 at October 13, 2008 10:02 PM

Amber, also if you going to hire yourself a Rotaryhoe to do this, get hold of some bags of blood and bone & dynamic lifter, apply it with the gypsum and then rotaryhoe the whole lot in, water it well then apply some seaweed emulsion with one of those snap on hose applicators.

Water and rest it for a few weeks be then it will be ready for anything you want plant in it

Amber, the trick with liquid clay breaker is to remembered to water it in each day after you apply it to get further and further down in the soil, also when you apply it is to water it in straight after.

You are right about increasing the salt in the soil when you apply gypsum, the best way to get into the soil is just read the required amount across top of the soil and then Rotaryhoe it in a, also dont forget to do a soil PH test as well

Posted by: outbackdrifter at October 14, 2008 8:47 AM

Thanks Drifter,
I got some gypsum delivered, but decided to try the liquid claybreaker first in the worst areas, as Gypsum seems to take such a long time to work.
I think I got a bit carried away with the gypsum though, I noticed some of the edges of my natives are looking a bit brown. I think the leaves are a bit burned.
Dragged out one of my books which said too much gypsum can increase the salt in the soil. So I will be more careful in the future! Hopefully I can flush it out a bit before summer gets here, though.
Would the liquid clay breaker help flush things through? (I haven't used liquid clay breaker in the area where I got carried away with the gypsum) or would this just make things worse?

Recently a well known professional French astrologer conducted an online experiment about the accuracy of his predictions.
Readers responded to a simple query by giving him their sign and contact information.
They were individually sent a reading and asked how accurately it described them.
Several thousand people representing all signs were involved and over 90% responded that the information portrayed them 'very accurately'.
Everyone was sent the same reading. It was taken from an errant Doctor, a mass muderer who killed over 60 people.
Implicit in this story is the information that many so called 'professional astrologers' have no belief in their predictions at all.

Amber, liquid clay breaker is only good for about 12 months so get yourself a 20 kg bag of Gypsum and and apply it when you are working that area and when you planting

Posted by: outbackdrifter at October 13, 2008 8:33 AM

Must crawl into bed as I am exhausted.
Finished my sleeper retaining wall today with my daughter's help. Except for the steps, still working on how I am going to do them!

Came back in about 40 minutes ago after spreading liquid clay-breaker along each side of my driveway. Luckily my young neighbours go to bed early, they would have thought I was mad, walking along the driveway after mid-night with a watering can watering the empty dirt!
It's just that it is supposed to rain tomorrow and I thought the rain would help to wash it into the soil. Couldn't do it earlier because the kids were all around for tea, plus washing to fold.

Watering liquid clay-breaker into the ground after mid-night when I have to get up for work the next day, is that what a sensible Taurus would do?
Or an eccentric Gemini?
Or maybe I am just crazy!

Posted by: amberlight58 at October 13, 2008 1:36 AM

Yes, I know what you mean, Perth. I am also not so sure about this horoscope thing.
I was born on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini. Apparently my moon sign is also Gemini.
Both my parents were Geminis and they seemed to always be competing as to whom was going to avoid taking responsibility for anything!
I felt like I was the parent at a very young age.
I have always been a very responsible person, sometimes too much so.
When I read the characteristics of Taurus, I feel I am much more like Taurus than Gemini.
Interestingly, with my Taurus characteristics, I am supposed to get along famously with Capricorns. My ex is a Capricorn, as was my BIL and both my Grandfathers. Yet I find I seriously clash with Capricorns, they are far too judgemental for me and my sense of humour just doesn't "gel" with theirs.
In fact one of the major problems in my marriage was there was never much fun or laughter.
So maybe I should look for those more compatible with Gemini!

Seems quite ridiculous that a simple thing like the time you were born, could influence anything, but then some gardening magazines have a planting by the moon calendar. Some people strongly believe that certain palnts should only be planted at certain days of the moon' cycle.
Haven't tried that myself, simply because it would take me six months to plant up my garden!

Hi, Perth. No, actually I don't really know if star signs are all true. I think they are, to some extend. Like they say that relationship and commitment are very important to a Libra, who will wither if left alone in a relationship. I think it’s very true. And they say the best match for a Libra is a Aquarius (lol…….), because both signs do not like to stay at home, and they can understand each other very well. I think it’s very true about the understanding part, but not the staying at home part. Because I like to stay at home a lot, and only “venture out” once a while. I mean I don’t like routine, but I definitely need a very sweet home to rest my heart and soul. And it looks like you care a lot about your home, too. But it’s very true for male Aquarius (I know, otherwise, I’d not be here). I think I’m doomed according to star sign compatibility, because no any signs would best match me.

But anyway, the most important thing is being peaceful and being happy. And then one day, my dear God (I am hoping) would say, “My dear child, you are such a happy person, but you are too lonely. Let me see where there is a happy lonely boy.” Then a magic wand (Does our dear God use a magic wand? But he is very powerful anyway) is waved and a very handsome lonely boy is bewitched, and find me very pretty. (lol….. I am too ugly). But beauty is in the eyes of a beholder, so you’ll never know. Lol…. T

hank you so much, Perth. Maybe a Libra male is exactly your match, because Libran are very sensitive although sometimes can be quite moody (just leave us alone when we want to be alone), but we never want to change others to suit our own needs. We are very fair. But we are very fragile and feel hurt very easily. Good luck, Perth.

I don't know about this Star sign thing, but have to admit I am interested in knowing when a person was born. I am Aquarian and there has been over the years a few fun and games in office situations where people try to guess and just about everyone who knows me quite well has guessed it. I was seeing a Virgo man for a while and a few in the office laughed at the incompatability and said, that won't work. It didn't work but the things that caused us the most angst were exactly what the guys in the office said. I know it is co incidence at times but it was funny at the time. The people I have had the longest relationships over my lifetime have always been Scorpio. Co incidence maybe I don't know. Pisceans I find a little confusing, never quite get to trust them. Taurus are great. Silly though isn't it, as you wouldn't base any reality on what the stars say.....surely.

Two men went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep.

Some hours later, one wakes the other and says, Look
towards sky; what you see?'

The second replies, 'I see millions of stars.'

'What does that tell you?' asked the first

The first ponders for a minute then says, 'Astronomically
speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies. Time wise, it
appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning.
Theologically, the Lord is all powerful , and we are small and
insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day
tomorrow. What does it tell you, ?'

" Someone stole tent.'

Yes, I agree. I am a "complete" Libra, like daydreaming sometimes, and definitely procrastinating everything in my life. But Librans are fair. Don't know about me being balanced, supposed so, but very sensitive and sentimental, that's for sure. Try to be diplomatic, but can be quite blunt, too.

So, please forgive me, if any of my friends felt I was lack of consideration and have hurt your feelings. I am very sorry. I am learning to be a better person.

Posted by: ahappyending at October 11, 2008 7:32 PM

Hi, another newbie here, never blogged before either! I'm a taurean through and through. Not stubborn though, probably because the guys in my life have taken stubborness to an art form, so wasn't any point me doing it!! LOL. The RSVP description of us bulls was interesting, saying we need to not be in survival mode and I found that to be spot on. I don't know whether that applies to the other 1/12th of humanity, the other Taureans, but it's me to a tee.

Hello, another one here who is on the cusp - Virgo and Libra as I have stated before.

I think i'm a mix of the two signs, very organised and precise from my Virgo side but also a tendency to daydream and procrastinate from my Libra side, very confusing

msdivinity ~~~ welcome.
I am also very much on the cusp, Gemini/Cancer.
90% Cancer (the carer) 10% Gemini (confusion)
and you talk stubborn --- OMG yesss, although with age I am mellowing and I am realising that I can't have it all my way ------ and truely wishing that others my age would also mellow instead of remain in the rut that so many seem to have slipped into.
Sighs!
Cheers, Sue.

Hi ... newbie here.

I'm on the cusp - Taurus and Gemini. I'm curious, who else is "multi-signed"??

I have the tendencies of both: earth sign vs. air sign; stability vs. need for new experiences; peacefulness vs. need for stimulation; stubborness - OH YES, lmao; but I see most of both signs in different aspects of my life.

Anyone else here on the cusp - and do they also see both sides?

Posted by: msdivinity at October 8, 2008 3:12 PM

i am a scorpio thru and thru - there is no getting away from it.
Interestingly the Japanese use blood groups to decipher personality - and that too is quite true to form as well.

But people really are quite predictable - we do not differ all that much, contrary to the idea we are individual [in looks that is true]. It is nature versus nurture and from there many things make sense, hence i like to probe into a 'dates' growing up environment - you can learn so much more about the person *winks*

I think that we may all be guilty of making assumptions about people based on what the know about any sign.

For example when I joined this site I did not corrected enter in all details....late at night.....time poor, etc, however a friend who is a long term blogger phoned me to tell me I had put up that I was looking for a male of female? LOL

Needless to say it did explain why I had so many interesting people viewing my profile.

Just to clear the matter up I am looking for a long term relationship with a male only.. thanks

Thank you, for the welcome Aliane but I can't see your profile.

Marcus, I think Healesville may have been a bit quieter than Ballarat East in the 50s. We had more than yonny fights. State school kids used a catapault called a shangai which fired a stone about 40-50 metres. Us micks used a ging which was a similiar catapuult but fired a bent over nail or a fencing staple. The ging had a longer range and was more accurate and unlike the stone it was difficult to see the nail coming. So we scored plenty of hits. Fortunately no ones eye was knocked out but there were a lot of cuts and bruises

Both sides catapaults were powered by aeroplane rubber which cost 4d a yard and was sold by a Jewish owned store which made the whole contest a rather euceminical thing really. I still have my wire prong and some years ago went to buy some aeroplane rubber so I could teach my kids how to fire it. They were rather horrified at the thought of firing bent nails at other kids. The national brand rubber store I visited had never heard of aeroplane rubber. So, sadly my ging remains in the bottom drawer.

Hmm. If I fall on hard times I can fry my satchell. That post had the feel of someone who was a bit tuckered out putting in a supreme effort before ni ni's. Been researching names again too I see. When I was ten I knew the latin name of every species of Australian lizard and snake.
Was never incarcerated up at Healesville but did spend an entertaining friday night in the lockup at Flemington cop shop sometime in the 1980's
Best trained birds at the moment would seem to be Hawks under malign influence of Mr Kennett; sanctuary eagles definitely outdo the West Coast variety at the mo.
I once received a call from an agitated mate who said "there is a bird in the Coonara" and then apologetically, "Penny has gone away" Fortunately for the bloody Indian ringneck dove that made its way down the flue the Coonara was not going and in the absence of his wife the brave husband was relieved of the risky job of removing a badly dehydrated small bird from it.
Maybe that birds incarceration in the firebox was pre ordained and allegorical; a metaphorical fertilisation rite entwined with a Catholic vision of Hades and reprieve after penance. Surely something to do with recreational seeding.

After reading A's account of the Oxford study I am not suprised at Catholics finding it pleasant. Looking at art while being electrically stimulated would be far nicer and more meaningful than the post indoctrination suspension of rational belief nonsense that they are expected to cheerfully endure.
Cheers Marcus

A Macrame bacon rind satchel it is then Marcus ,embroidered with your initials in a heart with a space for those of your true love. Egernia?
BTW you can now find out who your true love is by simply SMS ing your number to a call centre and paying a small fee of never ending payments for them to text you a name chosen from the call centre managers hat I think.

I haven't heard the expression 'yonnie' for years. So what did you do that they had to keep you in the cage at Healesville Sanctuary? ..your 'inside' connection...
Yes, those birds, like dogs, can sense a scared person. You trained them well.
Currumbin Sanctuary...Hell. and I once went to Hawaii and while walking in the street suddenly had some giant parrot put on my head by a street photographer...not a fun photo opportunity at all......

I really hated my ex husband the day a bird flew into my house and got behind the curtains. I tried shooing it and opening all the doors but it just flew and flapped around until eventually I had to be brave and catch it to take it outside. One giant step forward..
I noticed the Healesville Pub has gone all uppity. I remember going there on my way back from a romantic weekend away and having a great old fashioned pub meal for a few dollars...but that was about 1979.

I saw some program recently on your favourite subject of male reproduction cycles. The women in the panel said "yes", they acknowledge it is possible and "Yes", they even acknowledge your theory about seed spreading being somewhat inbuilt, but then the best bit....."But why would they want to?" and "Women may also be capable of breeding and also think about multiple partners BUT they don't do it because they make choices for their overall well being and happiness"
I am still interested to know how you balance your need to have men spreading seed left right and centre with your views on overpopulation?
As for Lynaths revenge being eating an animal she is scared of ....no! I have a hard time associating living creatures with food and being able to eat them as it is.
I don't think I would have made a very good pioneer woman somehow......

Marcus sweetie, ...hear here, ..I just read the MX newspaper that caught my attention in scientific experiments of Believers versus Non-believers in religious torture...

Belief in God isn't so painful ?!...

Faith in God can relieve pain, a scientist say....
New research at Oxford University has found the Christian martyrs may well have been able to draw on their religion to reduce the agony of,...for example - being burnt at the stake.

In a bizarre experiment, academics at The Oxford Centre For Science Of The Mind, ..tortured 12 Romans Catholics....and 12 Atheists, with electrics shocks as they studied a painting of the Virgin Mary.
They found that the Catholics seemed to be able to block out much of the pain. And, using the latest brain-scanning techniques,..they also discovered the Catholics were able to activate part of the brain associated with conditioning the experience of pain.

A sparking device was strapped to the back of the participant's left hands to deliver an electric shock.
The Scientist, then asked them to contemplate two paintings,. "Sassoferrato's 17th century", "Lady With An Ermine".

The participants received 20 Electrics Shock while looking at either the religious or non-religious pictures.
The Catholics said that looking at the painting of the Virgin Mary, made them feel safe, taken care of, calm and peaceful.

The Psychologist at Oxford Universities, admitted..non-believers might have similar reaction looking at " a pictures of someone they feel very positive towards, ..such as a mother or father or lovers...but not in religious artifacts..

How come after 334 posts we have gone from star signs to church architcture ???

Okay I will put us back on track.

A place I have visited, like the view , but not as high as my superiorty complex.

Looking forward to the satchel; a nice, finely stippled pigskin one would do the job.
I wasn't the blue eyed golden haired boy, that role was admirably filled by my taller, better looking and more social younger brother; and still is. Back then Healesville could get a bit rough and I remember 2 and 3 boys a side yonnie fights with Catholic boys on the way home from State school.

Courtesy of a bloke named Vern Mullet (no, he had a conservative hairstyle) who was the Healesville Sanctuary director and friendly with dad, I had some inside connections there. When we heard you were coming the birds were specially trained.
Now of course at the Sanctuary they are far less bothersome though some are extremely well trained, witness the fantastic birds of prey display where the Wedge tailed eagles among others, swoop over the crowd in the ampitheatre.
Back when I was there the Healesville Hotel was a timber getters pub. Now you can eat the bothersome birds in 3 Hat dining style. Last time I was there quail, pheasant, chook and duck where on. Lynath's revenge.
Or is the revenge of the older birds to be found here on the RSVP blogs? A noisy, quacking, flapping, chirupping, sometimes singing, pecking and querulously beady eyed flock who advance in a meancing semi circular phalanx against a cock bird who dares to suggest, for instance something about the length of male reproductive life.

Marcus@4.15am. Love your take on the headstone. Think I'll pick the marble, and flip it and have on my kitchen bench. Have always wanted a piece of marble there. Me being the excellent cook and all that I am. Not!. (refer food blog. lol.) It would be a good talking point I must admit, but guess I have enough talking points allready in my home. lol. I am certainly not mainstream.

I think overall the Church has done a good job in keeping the masses in line. I certainly believe we need order and structure for a civilised society. Be it our Churches, Governments, Schools.

Belief systems are so powerful and give direction and I think hope (in sometimes a hopeless world.) Wisdom passed down through the ages has such an influence, and I suppose I feel sad for those that don't have any sort of belief. It can be such a comfort to those struggling with life/health or whatever reason. To feel there must be a purpose to it all can sustain through the tough times.

I'm so with you on the beautiful architecture of Churches. Just stunning. You can just stand in awe sometimes.

Of course I don't believe our bodies are re-consituted. I believe our spirit essence (I suppose most would call the soul) continues on in another dimension/plane of existence. Also that it is quite possible to communicate with these spirit entities.

Your last sentence - Beautiful! mmmmm. Chandeliers and starry skies. Love that!

We have sunshine in Perth today, yay, although thunderstorms tomorrow apparently. I bought a power saw yesterday from Bunnings and I am going to attrack a tree in the back yard today. I wanted to keep it as it's beautiful but it's now so big and needs cutting back, quite often actually. Tried a normal saw and that didn't work so now the power saw thing and see how artistic I can be, I hope.

Thanks Aqua, I don't really feel I have to defend myself as the post was absolutely laughable and I think most people are well aware what is going on but thanks anyway. I now have two days home and I am going to do gardening. I am hoping the sunshine keeps up as it has been so cold. Great football game this afternoon, watched it at work but with the sound turned down. Bit difficult but it broke up the day. Have a good one.

Well you must be true to your stated profile Margie, if he didn't realise that you were older than him!
Didn't meet through RSVP then? As you are very honest about your age on your profile.
(Read an interesting one yesterday, "blurb" said he was a 45 year old, but his age up the top clearly said 50! Either he hadn't updated his profile for a long time, or he thought these young 'uns can't read blue writing!)
Hope things go well for you. After all if he was attracted to you before he realised how old you were, what's the diff?
Happy Birthday, hope you have a great day and evening.

Jenniferhigh.
I sent the draft earlier by mistake and then typed a long addition only to have it disappear into the ether.
I think the poltergeist MT sent over earlier this week might be doing her mischief.
I love the story atheist Adams tells of how when flying over Rome during a storm he could see the Vatican at the moment his plane was struck by lightning. Anyway, what you may see as linking to a belief system is correct. Christianity is a dominating cultural influence. It is only natural that we pick up many elements of it. This has been studied. So much of our language, art, culture, architecture, (and conflicts) are influenced by the religions. I am happy with that and love the many layered Gregorian chants, the pithy wisdom in biblical quotes and Church stonemasonry. I have no problem reconciling that with my understanding that there is no god and religion has major credibility problems. There is even an atheist forum for the military, called appropriately enough 'Atheists in Fox Holes'
A lot of scientific study has been conducted by 'ministers' who were secret atheists and using their church stipends as a research grant. Gregor Mendel was a Lutheran Monk and the father of genetics.
Anyway further to your belief about the other side. When we die it is usually because we are worn out and diseased and our organs fail. Into what wholesome state do you imagine you will be reconstitiuted as you pass through?
Regardless you could adopt my strategy to the epitah and headstone. Get it engraved now on a nice piece of granite or marble and flip it over for present use as a coffee table. Great talking point under the chandeliers and then the starry skies.
Cheers Marcus

Good luck with the fella and have a grreat day tomorrow... Cheers.."G"

Posted by: amdoingit at September 26, 2008 11:32 PM

using the word 'God' does not indicate a belief in 'God' but merely a recognition that others may have a belief in a"god'. hell, substitute any other word in it's place and most likely the exclamation would have the same effect. So, i think it is highly self righteous to hold such condemnation of people supposed to be athiest for using the word "god" to express an exclamation of some sort.
Posted by: grego7 at September 26, 2008 11:10 AM- I know that Perth can come across quite strongly, but in my reading she rarely speaks in anything but generalisations, however, the snide remarks you refer to are usually retaliation to thinly disguised venom from others, even if they are genuinely nice people. Just my observation from afar.

Jennifer.
Have faith gal. I have great reservations about describing myself as an atheist. The word is a worry because it suggests that theism, religious belief, is the natural order.
We all should know that it is not and quite evidently religious belief causes distress, consternation and immoral standards, not to mention great wars.
However I do occasionally drop the G word as a bit of a diagonal nod to a prevailing weight of culture and for my own amusement.
Derryn is the Human Headline and will say and do anything for a bit of notoriety. I am not sure that he would think very much through and even if he did come to a reasonable conclusion.
Actually I suggest you change radio stations and listen to Phillip Adams on Late Night Live a certified living treasure

Posted by: kisskat at September 26, 2008 12:07 PM

Hi all. I's my birthday tomorrow. Like many true Librans, I sometimes have trouble working out which side of the bed to get out of. I saw a quote somewhere which said that Librans are naive and perceptive at the same time - How true! Can't believe I'll be 62.
Am interested in a great guy, and said to him, 'actually I'm older than you. He said 'Oh, a few months...." I said 'Try 5 years. ' There was silence at the end of the phone. Not sure how this is going to go.
Have had friends say "lie about your age, You'd get away with it.'
However aside from the moral dilemma of lying. I don't want to go around covering my tracks.

Perth,
Your abrasive repostes to genuinely nice people is irritating and are indicative of the intolerance you hold for anyone who does not share your very limited and myopic view of the world.

You remind of me of the person who makes anonymous comments without having the courage to make the comment directly to the intended person.

You confuse your high handed opinions as logical arguement. They are not.

For some time you have been making snide remarks directed at two female bloggers for reasons known only to yourself.

You have not got the intelligence of L&T, the eloquence of Waterbombe or the humanity of Esprit. Simply chipping in bitchy comments is not productive. No wonder some people think you are a puppet. It is difficult to believe a real person could be so mean spirited.

for some people, the only way they react to things is on an emotional level. others are more analytical and keep their emotions in check. neither is necessarily wrong, just different

Posted by: kisskat at September 26, 2008 9:45 AM

Of course it implies a belief. Some peoples god is money, other peoples god is sex and so on and on. Because your belief is restricted only to religious teachings it doesn't mean that other peoples are. Also apparently your god is not the traditional bible one so again going around in confused circles in the saintly picture making. Might suggest the god you are speaking of is ego.

Posted by: iaminperth at September 26, 2008 9:29 AM

The snapping and nasty comments constantly happening and lack of empathy and understanding under the guise of saintliness would paint an entirely different picture and the only emotion I have ever seen displayed by one particular person here is that of an angry follower who has little control of emotion and certainly no real understanding of the surroundings. Methinks should seriously rethink any type of career path.

Posted by: iaminperth at September 26, 2008 9:12 AM

I know you don't do this Marcus, but other Athiests on the site do - Use "God', in lots of sentences. Oh God, God forbid, God knows, God da,da,da. I really don't get that. By using the word implies a belief of some sort to me.

Yes, I use it. I guess God as a word sums up a belief for me. Not a Christian belief system, but a belief system of my own. A universal power of sorts I suppose and the word sits comfortably for me.

Just another thought.

Kaz, I think your chosen profession could engulf anyone if they were not extremely grounded and had a sound personal life at the same time. Some of the situations you would face on a daily basis would be very distressing if you were to deal with them on an emotional basis. On the other side of the coin I would think there would also be situations bringing great joy and shared laughter. I think if you weren't able to operate on a very professional level and embrace the difference your position could be highly distressing at times.

Posted by: iaminperth at September 26, 2008 8:29 AM

Marcus I have a little story for you about Derryn Hinch (since you mentioned him over on the other blog). Derryn being a well known Athiest in his beliefs.

Several years ago he wrote a tribute in the Herald Sun or Sunday Herald Sun to Maurice Gibb (BeeGees fame) after he died. From memory he signed off on the piece "Thanks for the memories and God Bless." Well of course that got my dander up. Here was this proudly always claiming Athiest asking for a blessing from God.

Well I phoned him that week on 3AW Talkback to challenge him on it. I was so nervous, but felt it was so relevant to challenge. Do you know he couldn't explain it? He agreed with my point about it, and appreciated my pick-up. He agreed he sounded like a hypocrite in writing it. Is interesting that Athiests often still seem to link in to a belief system from somewhere. Maybe they are not really Athiests at all. Not deep within.

It reminded me of post you put a few months ago. Remember? R.I.P. in reference to a musician who had died. If someone has died, why would they be resting? Resting for what? Christian dogma somehow gets into us.

The R.I.P. one is a biggie for me. Guess that's why I challenged you on it at the time.
I have made sure my kids know that any memorial plaque (if I am deemed worthy. lol) is not to have that written on it. I plan to be doing heaps of stuff when I get to the other side, and certainly not resting! One thing will be in bringing proof of survival back to my kids. And oh yes, it can certainly be done!

Jen

Posted by: jenniferhi at September 26, 2008 8:18 AM

Kaz ~ Yes I understand what you mean. In so many occupations there is a need to keep our emotions in check. Absolutely!

In fact I am planning a new career path that will place me amongst emotional situations for people on a daily basis. But I believe my empathy and undertanding will carry me through in my desire to help these families.

That is the plan anyway. Can I carry it off? I don't know. I only know it's what I want to do so am pursuing it.

Emotions to do with our own personal lives and those we care about of course are very different.

I too had a brother with a bow and arrow as was common at the time of Cowboys and Indians". ...we laughingly reminisce (at least I do )..about the once too many times he aimed his arrows in my direction and my friend and our dolls, and I snatched his bow and snapped it in half followed by most of his arrows before Mum caught up with me....he had flung himself on the grass in a snivelling, whimpering mess....the blue eyed golden haired boy.....
We are close siblings and went on to break a TV in a fight over what to watch and that was just last year....

Posted by: thelynathdiary at September 25, 2008 11:56 PM

Jen, l think l didn't explain properly.
When l deal with people in the workplace on a highly emotional level it is sometimes best for my own mental health to keep things on an emotionless, more clinical level within myself.
This doesn't extend to my normal at home life, but helps to keep my work balance within a fairly manageable frame.
If l were to let the highly emotion charged times that l experience at work take over too much, there would be nothing left for me on a more personal level, and that is just not worth it. That was, l guess, more my point.
Where does the balance find itself if our emotions are always on display, how do we deal with that?............K

Posted by: auntykaz at September 25, 2008 11:18 PM

Emotions do drain energy. That is for sure Kaz. And of course it would be good if we could learn to not always take everything on board. But I really think for lots of us, emotion is a core thing within us. Often it simply cannot be ignored or witheld.

Jen

Posted by: iaminperth at September 25, 2008 9:59 PM

Emotional reaction is sometimes not worth the bother or worth the energy.
I am a bit with Waterbombe there, the emotional energy spent at my job is at times challenging, and l try to not go there these days, takes too much out of you.
I have learnt not to take work home with me and try to leave all the headspace stuff there..... Dont always make it, but there you go.............K

I didn't change the written content much at all, since my last edit that I made after some comments other bloggers made a while back.

I wondered when I'd be able to change the photos, because it seemed to require a photo shoot with someone else operating the camera. But then I remembered that my phone has a camera with a timer, and I also realised that I could take that empty bookcase I have in my spare room outside and, ah, use it as a camera-stand.

A quick addendum... I wonder why I have to log in 3 times sometimes in order to post something... Is this a problem other people have also?

Posted by: featherlessbiped at September 25, 2008 8:05 PM

waterbombe@11.50am. I guess you are lucky you can handle the sort of people you deal with without an emotional reaction. Then again lucky? Hmmmm I don't know. I like people who can actually show their emotions. Perhaps it would be nice if sometimes when you post that you realise lots, if not maybe the majority of people do have emotional reactions to things. I have no idea what sort of career you are in, can only guess really, and of course there has to be people like you who can handle that type of thing.

What I'm trying to say I suppose is that sometimes your posts do come in as hurtful and aggressive. Even just below you have a dig at featherlessbiped new photos. I mean what the? You say you hear from the Melbourne Bloggers he is a good - looking man and take their word for it. I mean can't you see he is a good-looking man? And then the last line "That might work"

FeatherlessBiped... it was Plato's definition of a man. The funny story is that Diogenes of Sinope, upon hearing of Plato's definition, went out to the market, bought a chicken, plucked it and took it to the lecture hall, whereupon he threw it down and said "There's Plato's man".

Who knows about the photos... But I suspect that they are an improvement over what I had before. Funnily enough, that one you mention is probably my favourite of all the photos I have up. I also like photos on other people's profiles that vary from the usual "mugging at the camera/trying to look chirpy" recipe. And after all, I'm not a laugh-a-minute sort of guy, and no-one is going to mistake me for Robin Williams or Jerry Seinfeld any time soon. :)

Anyway, it will be interesting to see whether the change of photos make any difference.

I hear you are a good looking young man...certainly not a kapok mattress, so the Melbourne bloggers say....and if you are, and I'll take their word for it, that serious-photo-in-a-suit does you no justice. It does work, it is worth the money.....and besides, you can get such pretty stuff now, not like what our mum's or grandmothers wore!!!!! Have a lovely day all....jewels

"I would not recognise you because I haven't seen your photo. Your profile here is a sham; you flaked out big time when I spent a stamp on an email and asked to see your pictures" .Posted by: laughsandtalks at September 25, 2008 2:21 AM

Two things are important here, Marcus.

1. If anyone sends you an unsolicited email asking to see your photos you are entirely within your rights to refuse to give them your password. That is not flaking out. I did not send you a kiss nor invite an email from you in any way; I did reply to you, rather courteously I thought, but why should I accede to a demand for my photos (especially when you phrased it, as you did, as a demand)? For someone who is as aggressive and sometimes as nasty as you on the blogs, it should come as no surprise that some people do not want you to see who they are. Call it self-protection. I take it you feel you wasted money ....but you surely know that if you send an unasked-for email, you risk spending your money unwisely.

2. I realise my profile is a sham, honey, that's the entire point. I deliberately wrote a sham profile to illustrate why Eral's equally fake profile told us nothing about him. You sprang to his defence saying that what he lifted from other sources showed us what kind of man he is. If your logic is corrrect, then what I've lifted from other sources should tell you what kind of woman I am. And if it doesn't, your logic is faulty. That was my point. Your complaint about my profile proves my point.

Lastly, I think you should have a serious think about why your posts to me are frequently rude and aggressive .... I do not use that tone with you. I think you have a problem with assertive intelligent women who stand up for themselves and who can out-argue you at times. Well, whoever she was who tossed you around like that in the past, she wasn't me. We have never met and I have no desire to have any kind of personal contact....you are a character on a blog as far as I am concerned. So lay off with the aggression, it makes your blogs to me unpleasant for everyone else to read. And have a deeper think about why you direct such anger to a completely unknown person on a blog.

My money is on boobs. We most often use the muscle in the derriere but not the muscles that support the fatty deposits that make up the breasts.

Second try on the previous wager topic:

Reminds me of the old comic strip where the bodgie bails up the little old lady on the footpath and says :Show us yer norks!" (As if he would, but this is RSVP, kiddies.)

So she obliges by reaching down and lifting the hem of her skirt up to about knee level.

I was also wondering if women who'd had mammograms would be disqualified from being in the competition ....

GP, you have raised some serious issues. However, the main problem I see is that this race is for stayers. You are still in your prime so the race outcome will not be known for around 55 years. Say about 2063.

Now Drifter is a man of impeccable character so he will keep the tote safe for that long. Not sure I will be around to collect though.

WB, accept what you say re elasticity but bum has a great start. I cant see boobs picking up the distance. I think perhaps it is time you placed your bet. Can I put down for $5 on boobs.

So we now have a total of $10 on bum and $5 on boobs. Step right up ladies and gentlemen and place your bets with Drifter.

Of course we could have a non start and both boobs and bum might stay in the starting stalls. No movement at alll. Very edifying for GP but not so good for the punters. If there is no movement say in 5 years I think punters should get their money back.

Some amusement and exercise on a Wednesday night.

Sit on a chair.

Raise your right foot off the floor and begin to turn your foot and ankle in clockwise circles.

With either hand draw the number 6 in the air.

Your foot will automatically turn anti-clockwise.

Give up before midnight...you can't stop it!

WB - I thought it was sex before soccer!

Posted by: willow29 at September 24, 2008 8:05 PM

Grego I think you may have backed the wrong horse. There's a lot more stretch in a boob than in a bum. Remember those docos you see on SBS ...( stands for Sex Before Sleep.)...remember the women in remote villages who have boobs they can fling over their shoulders to feed the baby riding on their backs....no doubt this has happened because they wouldn't wear a solid support bra in bed at night, or so my mum would argue...I think she'd miss the fact that they have had very little support of any kind at all...she's 83 and still barracks for the Empire...but I digress.

This happens to boobs, but I have never seen anyone in a doco walking along pulling their bum behind them in a wheelbarrow. I just don't think it happens. (It does happen to guys' downstairs' after vasectomies though, apparently that's why so few of them have one, or so I'm told ;).

I wonder if you need to factor a stretchibility factor into your calculations? The maths is getting a little complicated now though...can we cope?

"Science was born on observation of fact and repeatability. That seems to have changed." Well, not, it hasn't changed, H2H, scientists still do that everyday...which you know, if you follow developments in medicine, for example. But it is true and has always been true that science is "a set of rolling theories, looking for evidence to support them". That's what a theory is, a set of ideas that is being tested out ...actually it's called a hypothesis at this stage when it can be confirmed or contradicted by evidence. Once it's reasonably well confirmed, it's called a theory.

H2H, if you really mean your "Science? Bah... humbug" comment, then you should immediately turn off the electricity, gas and water supplies to your house, plant some seeds in the garden for food, do not go to movies or watch TV, do not go to restaurants or order takeaway food, do not drive a car, take a tram, train, bus, car or plane anywhere, and remove any synthetic clothes or clothes that have been machine stitched. Do not read books or use computers. Get a little mud shack with a thatched roof somewhere where you can grow veges and catch fish, shear your own sheep with a knife, spin the wool and stitch up your clothing. If you get pneumonia, refuse antibiotics and hospital treatment.
That way, you should live comfortably without that humbug science to bother you.
But would you do it? Or do you think Science has something to offer you after all?

Unknownauthor, I really did just guess that you were a Virgo because you showed such early signs of cleanliness and order by following your sister around to wipe her face at the age of 12 months. I didn't look at your profile, honest. I don't know what bothers me more, the fact that you think I cheated, ha ha, or the fact that I used astrology accurately...aaarrrggghhh.

GP, a race to your knees between your boobs and bum is not really a fair contest. And as much as I am a bum man and will be barracking for your bottom I think the boobs would have a good case for making a successful protest.

Admittedly, bums in general are handicapped with the weight a bit more than boobs but the boobs are starting from a long way back. On the other hand boobs are a lot younger than bum so bum might request a weight for age penalty be applied to boobs.

Look, I'll have to go with my heart and put $5 on bum. Anyone want to back boobs?

Marcus and I have no history at all, although you'd think so, from his knee jerk and sometimes extremely aggressive posts to me. I think I must remind him of someone, that's probably it. Mind you, when I say "I", I mean my character, Waterbombe, who is not the real me, of course...in fact when Marcus is throwing one of his tantys at me, I am unmoved, because he gets me so wrong its hard to believe. I'm sitting here thinking "what, a femmo nazi boot wearing ball breaking man hater....me? " If Marcus met me incognito (which I do not have the interest or time to make happen) he would have no idea at all he'd met Waterbombe, because his perceptions are so skewed. So no history, just a man who is very aggressive towards some women because they remind him of someone in his past.

I think this also happens with people who have become very close....how many times have you thought about someone close to you and they suddenly phone....to explain this we call it coincidence!

Agree with H2H....the theories put forward by scientists are the best at the time but not perfect and are to help us understand the world and how it works! The theories we have for earth do not follow in the universe....there's meant to be according to Stephen Hawkings one simple universal theory that is yet to be discovered!

Posted by: brilliantblue at September 24, 2008 7:56 AM

Posted by: istj54 at September 23, 2008 7:34 AM

No ISTJ I can't explain the second one, I think there is some form of communication between humans that we don't fully understand yet. I have identical twin brothers and they have sometimes had a similar kind of unspoken knowledge about each other...it's odd but I think it does happen.

I have a twin sister, and although we are way way different now compared to what we were like there is a story that lends credence to the above.

Born 6 weeks premm, her hair lip and cleft palate, (52 yrs ago major surgery) me physically normal (now mentally retarded ),
her 11ins long and 3lb, me 15ins long and 5lb. (mother only 5foot and a 1/4 inch). Slept in separate cots in the nursery after the surgery, and on different sides of the room. Morning would find us cots together and holding hands through the bars . Noone wondered why but did wonder how. This at 6-12 mnths of age.
I apparently when we decided to walk, followed her around with a face cloth wanting to wash her face all the time, never did figure that one out.

Posted by: unknownauthor at September 24, 2008 2:50 AM

Posted by: waterbombe at September 23, 2008 4:32 PM - Anyone who has been touched by such a communication, or indeed a premonition that turned out to actually happen the next day will understand the significance and uneasiness of such an event.

Some things just can't be explained by 'science' - to those at the time they are very real. Coincidence? Perhaps. But then give me the odds on that happening. Billions to 1. Then again, a statistician will always find a way to justify something. If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit. And as for science itself, all this talk of anti-matter, dark energy, the 'expanding Universe' and the like - no-one can prove it, yet they all talk about it. And believe in it. Science was born on observation of fact and repeatability. That seems to have changed. One man's fancy is another man's folly. Science? Bah... humbug.

The line between scientific fact and human fantasy is becoming increasingly blurred. Scientists can't even agree amongst themselves. There are those who believe in 'Global Warming', and those who oppose it. Yet we've only been accurately (disputably) measuring for just over a hundred years or so. The Earth has been here some 4.5 billion years (again, disputable). Even Einstein's theorems had to be modified after they detonated the first atomic bomb. Quantum physics and our understanding of the space-time continuum and the Universe itself changes almost on a daily basis lately. With each new strange stellar phenomenon they find, a new can of worms opens. What applied yesterday is today's fish and chip wrappings. They're just a set of rolling theories, looking for evidence to support them. Debunkers debunking themselves. Paradoxically beautiful. Priceless.

Where do we go to when we die? Dunno. But, where were did we come from we before we were born? I'll leave to the existentialist's to have a field day with that one.

Perhaps we just weren't meant to grasp the concept of infinity. No-one has yet been able to come up with a satisfactory theory - for that's all it has ever been, and ever will be - a 'theory'.

Einstein did leave us with one enduring and thought provoking legacy - keep an open mind...

Onya, Albert :)

It's not really obscure...as we know Marcus is dusty old stock on RSVP and he has had to rebrand himself at least once that I know of in order to try to shift himself..(He is not that good at marketing is he??) The first time ever I saw his face (hehe) he was Momus and I was plain Lynath hoping to be a 'short story', but ending up staying until I became a "diary" and soon I will have to change to being a 'saga'-Thelynathsaga- although I still can't match Momus/Marcus longevity of 9 years + here! He could have been married and divorced twice in that time by modern standards of long relationships.

It never occurred to me until the other day, when, for some reason, the old name Momus popped into my head, to google it for fun.
I sometimes do this with unusual profile names as it can be revealing. You would be surprised at some of the references indicating the person may be involved in weird stuff..I can only presume the owners think they are too clever or want to see who responds because they recognised something in the name or reference Not everyone on RSVP is as straightforward as first appears I have discovered over time. .It can be an extra safety check.
I have been asked a lot about the name Lynath as there are male name googlers out there! Apparently there is some old Celtic mystical or fantasy character of the same name..but really mine is just an innocent combination of names...no hidden meanings except the names themselves.

When Momus came up as the God of satire mockery and unfair criticism I thought it was hilarious given Marcus' blog record.
I loved the bit about Momus mocking Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty just because she had creaky sandals and talked too much. Is that Marcus or not?
I doubt he chose that name randomly and I think he should reinstate it for the blogs.

When he answers me about whether or not he has other profiles who blog I will see if I can solve the million dollar question...which is his woman character.

The bit about the free character assassination/personality assessment was because long ago he (without provocation, I may add!!) sent me an email telling me what he thought of me and my personality and my interests. An excerpt of which I did publish in an old blog.
I was not hurt by what he said(and in actual fact that sort of thing makes me laugh) but I did send him my own appraisal of his profile and blocked him for some time in case he was influenced by the moon or something......(lunatic....) which I feel sure he is but now a harmless one....

Thus the basis for some enjoyable sparring and point scoring on the blogs over time.

I was just having a bit of fun with the shower scene by the way, although I think it is likely that a peephole was the poltergeist...that's what happened a lot in those days, I remember one (with a sign on it) from my own travels.

Lynath, this is a tad obscure...what's the deal with the Momus thing...I'm intrigued....

Posted by: waterbombe at September 23, 2008 4:32 PM

Oh Marcus, I didn't mean to mention Momus ...yet..sinister cackle...
I had actually written something else in that post and then deleted it and forgot about Momus.
Anyway I have been intrigued for sometime wondering if I imagined you once said you had three identities here..one of whom was a woman? I love a challenge and by accident I think I may be on to something.
But I won't if you don't want your cover blown if I am anywhere near right. Intrigue and cloak and dagger stuff on the blogs is fun.(as I always say respond to ideas not personalities)

Momus, I remembered was one of your earlier names(it might amuse you to know you were once on my favourites..before you sent me your "no obligation free personality assessment".for which I secretly thank you conceding some of it might have been right)
With my normal curiousity, a quick google and what do we see?

Momus or Momos (μῶμος), in Greek mythology the god of satire, mockery, censure, writers, poets, a spirit of evil-spirited blame and unfair criticism. His name is related to μομφή, meaning 'blame' or 'censure'. He is depicted in classical art as lifting a mask from his face.

He even mocked Aphrodite, though all he could find was that she was talkative and had creaky sandals (Philostratus, Epistles).

Because of his constant criticism, he was exiled from Mt.Olympus

Bit like here? Exactly like here! You would mock for creaky sandals too...... love it.

and I laughed and laughed and laughed...you are so clever and a true wit.....what a perfect persona for your blog character!

and now I am convinced more than ever that you were probably that awful boy who pushed me into Lake Bolac fully clothed in 1968....mini Momus.....

brilliantblue at 8:35 AM: I've previously posted (here, below?) how I woke feeling choked with asthma, while my teenage son was dying of it 5 miles away in the CBD, and it suddenly stopped 3/4 hour later, at the time when he died in hospital. I'm a believer.

Posted by: timewarp1 at September 23, 2008 10:25 AM

I can't say I know much about the supernatural and have not experienced anything along those lines but have had some funny experiences that are unexplainable!

The first was an x-boyfriend of 3yrs, we were very close 24/7....hadn't broken up 2 years proir to this...so had not spoken for 2yrs...woke up one morning and new something was wrong with him....went straight to the phone...tryed ringing him and it was engaged...as soon as I put the phone down...it rang with his mother on the end of the phone saying he'd broken his collar bone, was up at hospital...could you drive his sports car home because you're the only one that can double shuffle! I new something was wrong as soon as I woke that morning!

The next was an incident where my father was out...he suddenly got really bad stomach cramps...unbeknown to me I also was experiencing the same at home....they were the weirdest pains...started suddenly..then just stopped suddenly and no my father and myself had eaten totally different things for the last two days....we worked out the time slots were idential!
My mum does not believe in anything weird...she believes there's always an explanation...she had none for both of these!

Posted by: brilliantblue at September 23, 2008 8:35 AM

istj: I believe you.......most people don't talk about these things for the same reason.......but it doesn't matter because the experience was focused on you....it becomes part of you and ends up affecting your views of life.

One of my studnets is a medical Specialist whose mother died Sudenly on a very sidnificant day in the Gree k Orthodox calender.......yes,she is Greek. We have talked quite a lot about souls, signs.

WB...I replied to you yesterday in great detail but was moderated...who knows why...today I am not feeling nearly as loquacious...so will be brief...it was a hotel tour in 78...tried a camping one later...not for me,,,you have not come up with an explanation for the far more traumatic experience I had and I think that no one could...had not seen him for six weeks prior to his death and those visions were awful.
I am a very logical person too and always seek out explanations for most things but that one was cruel...wonder if this will get through...three or four of yesterday's didn't and I just write and don't save...so all my words of wisdom...gone.

I'll make the non supernatural or poltergeistical suggestion that in the absence of a cat, dog or perhaps a 2nd person who wont 'fess that vibes did it to the blue vase.
As a musician you are quite familiar with frequencies and energy transmission as sound waves from speakers or instruments. Or perhaps a slightly out of whack washing machine or even a crook compressor motor in a fridge worked it off the stand. Happens in my house..
I know, nowhere near as much fun as a ghostly presence but then you can find them on RSVP if necessary. ;-]
Actually, there might be something in that poltergeist of Coburg spell you cast on me earlier.

Err. I think we need something more sound than an ex nurses guess. And aren't circadian rythyms annual, not daily?

Glittering- love those crystals. So much to learn from how nature creates replicators-orderly lattices- and probably the only once necessary conditions for life to begin. Was a junior rockhound and loved cutting open agate 'thundereggs' and hunting for quartz and amethyst crystals at Rocky Point near Ararat. Enjoy your break and say hello to a lizard for me.

Delighted to have your formal albeit catrumped confirmation, but sad you can't make it on Sat nite, to light up the RSVP Pig with your brilliance.

Enjoy your Retreat, and come back recharged. We'll miss your bright sunny posts.

And let me know when that raincheck matures. Have started saving up some petrol ration tickets. au revoir, bright gem.

Okay my new blogger friends, it has been really fun here with you (especially Freaky Fridays, my favourite). It is harder than I thought for me to pull away and not blog, check emails, text, phone, etc etc, but as I mentioned previously, I have to tend to the garden which is my soul/spirit and retreat into the Hinterland hills and unplug from reality for a wee bit. Aahhhhhhh . . . .

All you Blogger Meet Crazies in both Brissy and Sydney Town - have a blast for me and let the good times roll . . .

Have fun and love one another - it's that simple!!

The moon outside is low in the north east and waning gibbous; about 55% full. Does that mean I should be a bit over half mad?

"How did the cat manage to get your papers out of order? Hmmmmmmm answer me that WB."

MT, my cat is a very delicate, gentle animal. He doesn't just want to turf things off the table...no,he is an artist. He sits there and using only one paw he quietly nudges a few papers over the edge...they flutter down to the floor, falling on top of each other but not in exactly the same order...then the next few go over...and fall on top of the last ones... and so on. So if you have stacked your essay with Page 1 on top, that will be the page completely underneath the pile when the cat has finished. He is actually very funny...we have watched him at work...he clears a whole area, slowly and gently, and then he sits on the table with a self-satisfied "I am an artist" look about him. If we gave him an easel and a paint brush at that moment he would probably whip something up for us. I may give that a go...it would probably fetch thousands.

Posted by: waterbombe at September 22, 2008 4:18 PM

...WB, you are making me laugh now...I am usually the logical one but I know how it felt...I also have a naughty long haired cat who enjoys redecorating at all hours of the night...sometimes frighteningly so...who would think they could make so much noise?...and my tour was in the summer of '78 and their first hotel tour. Those camping ones were apparently lots of fun...I did the one of Ireland but everyone got food poisoning and were hospitalised, except for me...and I wasn't even cooking for them.

You haven't delved into my other experience...I hadn't seen him six weeks prior to his death and those visions were very clear and very, very awful...and gratefully I have not had anything that clear again.

I know of two fellow sharetraders that plot their stock price movements according to the lunar pattern. Apparantly, the moon
causes a lot of panic selling (??) so it's a good time to buy.
Apparantly it's widely practised and they believe it has some credibility. There have been books written about the practice but I cant name any as I havent read any.

I had the nearly the same thing in my house WB, the television would go on in the middle of the night with the bible people screaming for me to repent. Then another time a load of women telling me to use a pimple medication. I rushed to the bathroom in terror and inspected my skin, but no pimples today ! Cosmic messages seemed to go away when I retrieved the remote control for the television from my puppy who was having a lovely time bopping it with her paw.

"WB...it was a hotel room and I know for a fact that he was downstairs".

Istj, while you were in the shower, you could not possibly have known FOR SURE where he was. When I am in the shower, I do not know where my partner is, because I'm in the bathroom and he's not...(usually)... and it's even more difficult to tell where another hotel resident is...this guy was outside your hotel room SOMEWHERE, that's all you can say for certainty. And as soon as I heard you were on a Contiki tour I knew what had happened...the bloke in the room beside or above you said to this bloke, "hey, one of the girls is showering, and there's a peep hole in my shower wall, the last bloke there left a sign next to it, d'you want to watch", and your "eerie" friend said "thanks mate, don't mind if I do".

But maybe I'm wrong... so how is it you know for a fact that your eerie bloke was downstairs? Did another bloke confirm it? If so, was his memory absolutely reliable? Or was he in on it, and lied to cover up...after all, those peepholes come in handy for more than one woman? Those Contiki tours were full of guys doing things like that...I remember what it was like travelling in the 70s. It was called 'harmless fun" in those days...now it's called sexual harassment, which is a bit more accurate.

Were you by any chance on a Contiki tour which rocked into a camping ground for Russians and foreigners (mixed) in Leningrad (St Petersburg) in September 1977? You and I may have met there, in a past life, as it were.

Posted by: waterbombe at September 22, 2008 2:21 PM

Good advice WB.......except I don't have a cat!The glass is very fragile..........it looked as if it had been placed, lying down on the lounge. All I want to say about it now is...Adar's favourite colour was also blue, and it was hanging on special stand....if anything was moved by a cat,it all would have fallen........just strange. How did the cat manage to get your papers out of order? Hmmmmmmm answer me that WB.I sometimes have this vision of one day, people like you and me entering the other world, and our loved ones saying to us...."well,we kept trying to communicate with you,but you kept ignoring us"!!!.

Posted by: musicteacher at September 22, 2008 2:15 PM

MT....and other believers ...re your blue vase and other strange happenings...hmmm. I had things moved weirdly about my house too...I would come into the room and find something I had left on the table was now on the floor...once a very long assignment I had written and left on my bedside table was found on the floor in exactly the same way but with the pages in a different order...hmmm ... was that a sign from the cosmos saying I should re-order my essay? ....Bowls, vases, plates would be found in a thousand pieces on the kitchen floor...a message from the universe about my taste in crockery, perhaps? ....Then food (vegetables) started disappearing from bowls and pots, but no one had been in the kitchen, I knew that for a fact because the dining room is right next to the kitchen and there is a glass door between them...and I had heard no sound... hmmm...was that the cosmos saying I should go on a diet.....more and more often, I would come home and find objects on the floor..it was a mystery. Until one day I caught my cat in the act. It turns out the cat is a minimalist, and doesn't like anything on surfaces. If we leave stuff on any surface, he will jump up and gently nudge it with one paw until it slides to the floor. He is gentle but determined in his design brief...everything goes south...letters, bills, dishes, vases, you name it. The tables and benches look pristine...but the floor is another matter. However the cat does not condescend to look at the floor...that is for us humans to walk on. He prefers heights.

But that leaves the question of the disappearing veges. Again, the cat is the culprit. In order to retain his extreme good looks (he is pure white, longhaired, green eyed and beautiful), he eats broccoli and salad. He will also go for pumpkin, carrots and the occasional bok choy as well. Hence the disappearing food. Actually he is well known for his vege 'habit' in the neighbourhood...one of my elderly neighbours reported that she had found a cat on her kitchen table and "I knew it was yours", she said, "because it was white and it was eating the salad".

So there you go, I have stopped looking for the poltergeist now. Actually cats are often responsible for poltergeisty...or whatever the noun is...no wonder the Egyptians worshipped them, they had everyone hoodwinked. I'm not suggesting that the supernatural doesn't exist, but I am suggesting you check on the cat. Put a little video camera on his collar and run the surveillance tapes late at night...you might be very surprised.

Posted by: waterbombe at September 22, 2008 1:59 PM

istj54 at 1:05 PM : Maybe you were significant to him, and when he guessed you were showering, he focussed his mind on that (helped by visualising you starkers), and you sensed his attention through the floor.

It's like looking intently at a stranger's back from a distance, and they turn round to check who's behind them.

Posted by: timewarp1 at September 22, 2008 1:19 PM

WB at 12.48pm: You're on fire today! Selective memory? Could well be. Another name: self-fulfilling prophesy.

My first short psych course in the 60s explained that people really hate not to know. It bugs them. Maybe because it's unfinished business, and I read recently that that's very unsettling. A security-risk thing, I guess.

So when they get a hint of something and don't know the cause, they guess, and then treat the guess as the truth, till it's disproved. Forever, if unchallenged by other later info. (Yes Marcus: Your hallowed Scientific Method. And phlogiston to you too, sir!)

It gives them the identical relief "No worry - I've got that sorted now" that religion gives to others.

Posted by: timewarp1 at September 22, 2008 1:12 PM

Oh Marcus........that was a bit mean.

But I hope some really freakish thing happens to you one day..................because as someone said below, until it happens to you,you won't believe it."I call upon the Poltergeits in Marcus' vacinity to pay him a call!!!!!"

I owe you a bottom smack, but i think you will enjoy it too much.

WB...it was a hotel room and I know for a fact that he was downstairs...we were on one of those Contiki tours of Europe...he claimed to have "The Gift" and it really was spooky...guess he could have just guessed that if I wasn't downstairs I could well be showering...but what about the intense feeling I had that someone was there. I called out from the shower several times.

Posted by: istj54 at September 22, 2008 1:05 PM

MT...there was a first released a couple of weeks back about scientists being able to bend light so it wraps around the object (a toy car) rendering it invisable to the eye!

Many things are just our lack of understanding at this point in time!

"another was a shower scene in Amsterdam...ha,ha...by myself. I felt that I was not alone in the room and kept calling out to see if anyone was there...later a young man asked me if I was showering at that time...with a smile on his face...eeerrriiiieeee".Posted by: istj54 at September 22, 2008 7:55 AM

ISTJ, I don't want to shock you, but my explanation for that is that the guy had a tiny hole bored into your shower wall and actually WAS watching you, that's why your feelings were so strong...and that's why he made that comment to you...it was no coincidence. He was a bit of a pervert. Did he work in the hotel by any chance? There've been a few incidents in the news recently where guys have installed secret cameras in the women's toliets at work...one was in a lawyer'soffices I think...that's the sort of situation I'm thinking of .

Re the Full Moon ...I used to know a group of midwives who arranged extra cover for each other over the full moon periods...they said there were always more births then. So I was interested to see that, in the studies Marcus cited, there were no correlations. I think maybe what happens is, if people believe something, they notice instances that confirm their belief...a sort of "oh god, another early baby on the Full Moon" ...and that's confirmation of their belief. But when there are early babies at other times, it passes unnoticed. So your beliefs keep getting confirmed, but you don't notice when they are contradicted. It's not that we are stupid, it's that we are busy, too busy to investigate it (and who cares that much anyway?). But when someone objective charts what really happens, our beliefs can be challenged. That's never pleasant, so we keep believing them.

FFS MT. Don't you think I have more important things to do than be an adjunct to your shrink and debunk slightly nutty chicks? That list of things you provided would take any self respecting rationalist about a week to work through. A credulist (you) would give it about a minutes thought and accept. Somebody else might mention Pirsig's Paradox which briefly is the idea that science, or anything, exists only in our minds; a sort of Zen idea.
The difference between science and religion is, well, light and dark. Scientific progress is the cumulative growth of a system of knowledge over time, in which useful features are retained and nonuseful ones are rejected, based on the confirmation or rejection of testable knowledge.
The Bible says you shall believe absolutely without question; there is no provision for changing belief as the information changes.
As I say a wise woman proportions her belief in proportion to the evidence. This last comment applies particularly to RSVP profiles of studly blokes...
Cheers Marcus

A professor was talking on radio here on Sunday explaining the difficulties of working with Dementia patients. He was especially talking of the dental hygiene part of it and how it is so excrutiatingly hard to monitor at times. It seems you have one of the most difficult jobs around. I know that I couldn't do it day in and day out and I commend you for making that your choice of professions.

Posted by: iaminperth at September 22, 2008 12:33 PM

Marcus darlink!!!!!! xxxxx

Why would you believe material written by a University,Psychiatrist etc????? What is the difference between that and the contents of the bible?

I don't read the bible......I started to read it when I was very, very young and freaked out when Satan tried to tempt Jesus..........and I am not a practising Christian even though all of my children have been Christened....etc.

There is a power in prayer.........I believe God is within,I believe there is a force that I cannot understand or explain, but i feel it.

At the same time,I believe in evil.........

It is no secret to those who have been here for a while that I see a Psychiatrist........mainly to monitor me with my post-traumatic stress..........but I spend a lot of my time discussing things with my Doctor.

He is an elderly, well respected Doctor, who never gets involved in any type of litigation.which has been a bloody hassle for me..however........he is a lover of music and an extremely compassionate and fair man.

Often I ask him about "things"......wanting his true opinion, his experience with people/patients.

Mt last question to him was...."Are there people who are just evil.plain and simple",regardless of what they "have".His answer....yes.

About a year ago,I asked him about reincarnation...........he told me that 20 years ago or so,there was a case with a woman patient that he and some colloegues in England were involved with.... which NO ONE could explain.

As far as spirits and the paranormal......I believe things have happened to people and hope it never happens to me.

I question little things that happen to me,that are "weird",and although I hope there may be truth to strange occurances,I try to reason it away...........

A few weeks ago,I almost became convinced, when a small blue glass on my mantel piece was found about half an hour later on the sofa. There is NO way it could have fallen.it was on a rack at the back........but is my favourite as I love the colour blue.

I think that like the imposters that are on RSVP,there are obviously imposters re: UFO's,ghosts, etc.which make it hard to trust it anything is true..........

But I believe, that only an ignorant man/woman would fob these types of things as simply hog-wash.........I believe, one needs to have an "open mind"........

Oh,before I forget.......I saw an invention the other day for computer games, where the wearer is able to make "things" happen by wearing a special "headpiece" which connects somehow to your brain waves and can make things move and change on the screen.I don't understand Physics........but why is this any different to so called Psychic energy etc?????

I'll be interested in comments.
Bye for now,
R

I'll check on my metallic state and get back to you...And I did and it turns out I'm a wood rabbit virgo libra... now does that make me more conflicted or less??Posted by: moniquen at September 21, 2008 8:18 PM .

From what I remember, Moniquen, wood rabbit is a good thing..the wood (solid) stabilises the rabbit (temperamental and jumpy) (I can imagine where Marcus will take that wood/rabbit link)...but the real issue is the Virgo Libra thing. I used to be into astrology 20 years ago and my son has that combination. When he was young he was very peace loving, into harmony, charming...just lovely...very Libra-like, until he struck a "point of no return" when neither hell nor high water would move him off course. I never managed to persuade him to be more reasonable once he had decided to be obstinate ... I was no match for a Virgo on a Mission. They certainly know how to stand their ground. Whereas Librans are always walking on shifting ground ..hence the conflict.

Working with the elderly we see "Sundowners", especially in those who have a diagnosed dememtia.

Simply put, in the later afternoon demented people may get particularly agitated, walking up and down, trying to find something to do.
Diversional Therapy activities are scheduled during this time for the purpose of distraction and occupying the resident with a task or activity.
The theory is that they are remembering the things that they used to do at that time of the day, such as folding the washing, preparing dinner, setting the table, getting ready to leave work for home.

Sundowning is a recogised part of dementia, and directly linked to the setting sun.......................K

It is not necessary.

Marcus...I didn't know that the GouldLeague no longer had their site. I used to use it as a fabulous reference but over the years you build up your own stuff to teach. I teach close to the Yarra and use City Water as a resource....Musicteacher mentioned Stephanie's restaurant...long gone and now aschool. She has a larder in Richmond which is great for an rsvp coffee meet...haven't tried it biut just thought of it...my school is part of her kitchen garden project whereby te students are involved in growing food and then learn to cook fresh produce...love those sessions...I'm learning too:)
...had a few supernatural experiences too...once I kept seeing a close friend/lover dead all day long...on a slab...and was told by police the next day that his remains were at...that was a good one...not!
...another was a shower scene in Amsterdam...ha,ha...by myself. I felt that I was not alone in the room and kept calling out to see if anyone was there...later a young man asked me if I was showering at that time...with a smile on his face...eeerrriiiieeee.

By the way..has anyone had any dealongs with the "supernatural?"

Posted by musicteacher at September 21, 2008 9:29 PM

Yes. All the time. It's no biggie, I've never been scared, exorcised, used the words, "I see dead people" or been declared insane. But it does happen.

This time last week, I was in my kitchen making a cup of tea, when a man walked in and started talking to me. I recognised him as the father of my dear friend, a man I'd known for 30 years. I knew what had happened, simply because of his appearance in my kitchen at 6.30am. Two hours later I got the phone call. He had passed away three days earlier.

I'm not trying to pass myself off as a member of the lunatic brigade, I'm just trying to answer your question MT. It happens, it's everywhere, and there's nothing to be scared about. I've seen too much to be a non-believer, and have no fear of it. Some places have some very sad stories to tell, other places - ordinary rooms in ordinary houses - have people wandering through reminding us that they were once here too. Send them love.

As for full moons and disturbing behaviour, I can tell you from frank experience as a former nurse that more people die (from natural causes)in the hours of 1am to 5am than any other. Why? Circadian rhythms is my best guess.

Malsie...thanks for the compliment the other day...like your posts too...and, if I am reading correctly again, those elationships are just filler...lovely filler...but just for a reason. or a season, and we need to think deep about the reason they came into our lives and learn and grow from that knowledge about ourselves:)...if I'm wrong here blame it on that gibbous moon.

I think you need more than a good debunk dear...
The moon outside is low in the north east and waning gibbous; about 55% full. Does that mean I should be a bit over half mad? My old man was a school teacher and he reckoned a windy day made kids scatty. A lot of coppers say what you do about the moon. In fact the moon has been blamed for more than it's fair share of things when it should have been religion, PMT (and astrology) that copped flack. The moon does exist but unlike them there is no evidence it causes behaviour akin to madness. And yes, this has been studied in depth.

Lunar Effect on Mental Illness: The Relationship of Moon Phase to Psychiatric Emergencies
STEPHEN F. BAUER M.D.1, and EDWARD J. HORNICK M.D.2
1 Department of psychiatry, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and clinical director, psychiatric inpatient services, the Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, 1825 Eastchester Rd., Bronx, N. Y. 10461
2 Department of psychiatry, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, associate professor of psychiatry and director of residency training services, Bronx State Hospital

The authors examined the frequency of use of the psychiatric emergency room of an extremely busy municipal hospital and were unable to demonstrate any relationship between moon phase and mental illness.
full moon and lunar effects
The full moon has been linked to crime, suicide, mental illness, disasters, accidents, birthrates, fertility, and werewolves, among other things. Some people even buy and sell stocks according to phases of the moon, a method probably as successful as many others. Numerous studies have tried to find lunar effects. So far, the studies have failed to establish much of interest. Lunar effects that have been found have little or nothing to do with human behavior, e.g., the discovery of a slight effect of the moon on global temperature,* which in turn might have an effect on the growth of plants. Of course, there have been single studies here and there that have found correlations between various phases of the moon and this or that phenomenon, but nothing significant has been replicated sufficiently to warrant claiming a probable causal relationship.

Ivan Kelly, James Rotton and Roger Culver (1996) examined over 100 studies on lunar effects and concluded that the studies have failed to show a reliable and significant correlation (i.e., one not likely due to chance) between the full moon, or any other phase of the moon, and each of the following:
-the homicide rate
-traffic accidents
-crisis calls to police or fire stations
-domestic violence
-births of babies
-suicide
-major disasters
-casino payout rates
-assassinations
-kidnappings
-aggression by professional hockey players
-violence in prisons
**-psychiatric admissions [one study found admissions were lowest during a full moon]**
-agitated behavior by nursing home residents
-assaults
-gunshot wounds
-stabbings
-emergency room admissions [but see]
-behavioral outbursts of psychologically challenged rural adults
-lycanthropy
-vampirism
-alcoholism
-sleep walking
-epilepsy

Speaking of emotional unavailability, why are pisces and virgo drawn to each other but spend equal amounts of time repelling one another?

Posted by: aqueousdb66 at September 22, 2008 12:45 AM

Unfortunately he liked to portray himself as totally single and available, which wasn't quite accurate, to continually attract those "bees" as it fed his ego so - nice for me, not so pleasant for me to observe.... Posted by: malsie at September 17, 2008 3:41 PM

Malsie, among the fond farewells for Tassie et al your angst has been trampled and overlooked and for that i feel for you. Shame someone seemingly so caring and sweet could not see their own emotional immaturity or perhaps unavailability.

No correlation may have been detected by the scientific studies,(and which studies, by whom and over how long and how many participants?) but ask anyone working in hospitals, medical or other emergency services and those working with the mentally ill or brain disordered and you will get an acknowledgement of the existence of the 'full moon 'phenomenon.

glitteringblue at 2:46 PM: Thank you Tall Slim Daughter. You're OK too.

No - not a rebel any more, since my pricklehead US-Marines haircut, black jeans and Green Bodgie/Zoot Coat days in the late 1950s - more way-out then than the punks were, a generation later. Now I'm a lot more unobtrusive.

It's just that I know what I want, and that is "Grey Nomad? No way! Never!"

Says it in my profile, to chase them away from me. (Makes nomadic-man-hunter chase-off sign, with crossed wrists)

I've got a pleasing life here in Brisvagas, and an interesting and challenging business (yes yes Perth, but not enormously profitable. You already told me that. Often.)

And I enjoy the company of several different groups of very good friends here, one including my kids and grandkids, and another including Starry,

Why would I want to trade all of that in, to get whatever people blind chance happens to deal into the next door caravan slot - that night?

With someone for whom that would be a full and satisfying life? Think Mr Toad's gypsy caravan, that's what I say.

That's a good point about the tidal influence of the moons gravity on earth. The moon is not involved in Ptolemaic astrology as far as I know (though no doubt I will be very speedily informed by Glittering if it happens to be). There has been some proper scientific work done on the moon/human mood connection because at least it seemed worthwhile. No correlation detected.
Pseudo astrological science claims that the forces exerted by celestial bodies at birth may influence personality. The gravitational force Uranus say, exerts is calculable but several orders of magnitude lower than the gravitational effect a paunchy delivery doctor or midwife's tummy might have.

Now, don't you know that forcing a poor, devoted, deaf dog to believe all that Catholic god bothering stuff is a form of pet abuse? It is probably worse than you-know-what. Poor thing just stares dumbly as canon law or stories about Mary ascending to heaven are taught. (I suppose any Heeler worth his tucker would be interested in having a sniff around the smelly dead before they arose; Lazarus or Jesus for that matter). I've never seen a dog recite the Lord's Prayer. I'm sure it could and would let you know if it was enthusiastic about, ahem, other activities.

You mentioned the Gould League a while ago. I read last week that they are in dire straights. Apparently, with no interactive web site they have lost their mojo. Hopefully the State Govt. will help this extremely worthwhile group forward.
Cheers Marcus

It sits on its cup the right way round - Brisvegas on the top, and east facing east. Like everything else, it's all in your point of view.

I am an Arien Snake...so WB I wasn't being a noorty girl...I just find some of your opinions uncannilly like my own and took a shot...and Marcus...if the signs in astrology are connected to the moon/stars and the moon's placement is connected to the tides etc...and we are largely made up of water...why wouldn't there be a connection, or influence re the time of our birth...just asking as I don't know much about it...just my thoughts...as Jewels would say...on alovely sunny, Sunday morning close to the bottom of this planet.

Posted by: ahappyending at September 20, 2008 9:22 PM

Couldn't resist responding because really I have always been interested in the study of human behaviour. Let's take (or perhaps not take) Scorpio - 'look out for the sting' - is just such an accurate depiction of their personality. Its all about them - almost azbergers mentality - and regardless of the potential they have for creativity they have to elevate any talent they possess to almost messiah status !!! What's that all about?? Sadly, they are often individuals incapable of committing to long term relationships - in fact let me scare you by giving you a number - Four years seems to be their average - so into themselves that they may never really know how much they could gain if they learned to trust. Wow - listen to me?

Well well how Rude! Now this really is breaking up, Internet style, with the people I have come to love (my friends) and those that obviously care for me also.

I didn't even offer a valid reason or say goodbye nicely. Instead I threw a little tanty and acted like a drama queen.

So I apologise and thank you at the same time for your kind words.

But seriously I do need to take a break and re-centre myself, as there has been too much going on for this little devil to handle. And it's just so easy to get carried away and think this is some sort of computer game forgetting that we are dealing with real people with real feelings. ( Some others may benefit from that thought as well! )

So the answer, Waterbombe, is yes I will be back. Give me three or four weeks for the computer chip to reset and I may just re enter the sand pit for another round. Besides something has caught the corner of my eye and I may return with some happier news.

Until then, with Love

No offence, but I'd run as fast as I can from any nomads. I've had enough. I didn't know Sagittarius could be a nomad. Star Signs say Sagittarius love to stay at home. So Star Signs are not too accurate after all. But it says quite right about Aquarius. So try your luck with Aquarius ladies. Good luck, sincerely.

Believe or not, I think it's true to some extend. We are different in so many ways and whether two people can live together harmoniously does depend a lot on the compatability of their personalities. I did not care about this much before, so I ended up having to start all over again. I think Star Sign is many years' of observations and conclusions of human characteristics. So if we want to laugh but not to weep on our second chance of relationship life, we'd better put very close attention on Star Signs. No, I am not in any business of astrology, in case you'd ask. But I do "Check Compatability" before anything else. Good luck to all of us!

Anyway time to move-on and I find the blog is not much generally educational, inspirational as it was before. Today is my last post and won't ever never post again. I got enough.

Tassie ~ I have just seen that post too.

Please don't leave the blogs. We so enjoy your insights, humour, and fun ways. Those wonderful posts you wrote about 'how men think', I'm sure heaps of us think about a lot. I know I do.

You are such a special person. (And readers, I have met him, so know it is true.)

Please think carefully about this.

thelynathdiary at September 18, 2008 7:37 PM: Bless you milady, but I am not worthy of your de-veining. For several reasons:

1) None of mine are varicose, so there's no need to remove them.

2) Nor am I a prawn, or full of it either, despite what the opposition member for Swan River persists in telling us daily, (and no matter what Bill we are supposed to be debating at the time.)

3) With my looks, I have no reason for being vain, so if your card included a misspelling, I don't need de-vaining either.
.............................................................

Enjoy your tai chi. My 5-evening course in 1998 did absolutely nothing for me, except that my then girlfriend (standing in line behind me) suddenly realised what 'good legs' I have, and told me driving home. (That was also why Joan chose me for her boarding-school wardrobe pinup, years before we met.)

I feel far more grounded lying on a picnic rug on a grassy hillside, looking past my belly to the sea. Especially if SHE is lying beside me, looking down the valley at the same scene.

h2h, I love breakfast in bed......must be the gemini in me....(though definitely not bi!!) lol lol, but I do now that as a gemini that I can relate to some of the stuff that is in the astrology readings.

Plus I also check out the chinsese readings too, but not every day, and I don't try to make my day or life fit into what the readings may say...with me it is a curiosity thing, I have the same approach to dating, I am very curious, which is probably why I get myself into sometimes shitty, sometimes very funny and sometimes fantastic situations!!!!!

Have a lovely day all...jewels

Posted by: heart2heart57 at September 18, 2008 11:49 PM

what fun...I just read that I am a Fire monkey by the chinese horoscope. I am Pisces otherwise. I had a chart reading done once and it was quite interesting but I think I would need someone else to read it to tell me how like me it was. I have found that often other people get a different impression of how we are to how we think we present ourselves or how we imagine we are.

fire monkey and pisces seems in some ways a little contradictory. Numerology is also fascinating, I wonder who made that all up?

I think I said before I think most of us take from these things only that which suits us and ignore what doesn't.

I read these things sometimes out of curiosity rather than belief.

MY HOLIDAY by CB aged 50 & a some incidental pesky months( Aquarius/Old Mutton in Chinese)

I have just returned from a few days away and enjoyed a bit of a side trip to a an "alternative, crafty" type destination the purpose being a deliberate(yes, Deliberate Marcus) attempt to have a damn good 'reading' Tarot, Palm Pschotic(sic) Clairvoyant even Runes if necessary....

Friend and I circled the "Spiritual Centre" until we identified the most appealing as in fitted the role...and went in.

Some years earlier an acquaintance-oh alright then, a loony relative-everyone is one or has one(not mentioned in profiles)) who is a great believer and who claims personal experience with aliens, ghosts and exorcisms had taken me, after much nagging and persuasion, to have my "fortune told," as it turned out by a woman worth her weight in gold(a considerable fortune that was too!)
I cannot explain how much fun and stress relieving this actually turned out to be and a hundred times better and cheaper than visiting any psychologist.

People often visit fortune tellers at times when they need emotional support through some life crisis.. If the person doing the 'reading' is someone with life experience and a bit of empathy it can be the best cure if they offer comfort, hope for the future even if it never comes true or reassurance. As long as the advice is not taken absolutely seriously) It is easy to see how people become addicted. I have had cards read occasionally purely for fun.

Anyway back to the future...sit in the privacy of a few hippie flags and some silk sarongs on a fold up chair. Cards first.....

What's this? She(20 years experience and local) sees a man in my future...he is actually here now waiting for me. I just have to learn a lesson first then I will be good enough for him(apparently) he is very rich and successful but that is okay as I will be too...after I write a kids book and take up Tai Chi.

She: I had money too recently. I sold my car and went to Bali. Then I went to Bali again. Now I have none and no car, but I am happy, so I have to catch the bus in 30 minutes but will give you a discount on the short session.......

The reason why I have to take up Tai Chi is to become more grounded.
She:Are you a grounded person?
Me: Yes.
She:Ah yes, I can see you are calm and a beautiful soul, but what activities do you do to stay grounded?
Me: Well I go to work everyday...
She:NO! What activities do you do ?
Me; well I like to cook and swim and read She: NO! You must take up Tai Chi immediately in a park so you can touch the ground and become grounded..

Me: Okay. But,Where will I meet him and what is his name?
She: I see the name "Paul" Or it might not be Paul but it could start with P. Here is the celebration card! I think you have already met him at work.
Me: You mean the gay guy? So my powers are so great I can turn gay men straight then?
She: No! But you will meet him when you learn your lesson.

Palm reading...all good...yep live long etc etc etc...

On to Numerology...add a few numbers in a crossword . I am at the start of a great year and I will meet Paul or Mr P within 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 months or possibly next year....

Now Spiritual..If I throw out the negative and allow the positive in and believe that the universe provides and ask for what I want it will happen after I take up Tai Chi(but only if it is with an actual Chinese person)
She: I see a man coming.
Me: Never mind that...where will I meet him?
She:Write this down when you get home and then burn it..(Hands form letter)

Dear Spirit of the Universe,
I am NOW ready.
Please send me a Devein (sic) man to come into my life in the perfect way and be right for me.
Thankyou.
CB
Me: Okay but which way is right and does Devein mean he is circumcised?
She: Time up.. $40 thanks.........

Next day, attend Thai cooking class with a group of mainly couples and one single man.
Me: What is your name?
He: Terry
Me: Oh...sorry thought it was Paul
He: That's not how you Devein prawns...
Me: I am taking up Tai Chi to become more grounded
He: I'm here with my mother...we both love Taiwanese food
Me:Thinks Do we get wine soon...did he just say Taiwanese???

Next day....going to airport...Oh, look there is The Pig and Whistle pub! Wasn't that the place the bloggers met? Oh ! Timewarp is my perfect Devein man!

just off to check yellow pages for Tai Chi classes so I can learn a lesson..or do I have to keep going back until I learn my lesson about paying Mysterious Maude $40?

WB, your requested reply at last. (Home this evening, for a change.) Actually I'm a Saggy Pig. Get my energy, optimism and romanticism - and some lack of attention to detail sometimes, from the Sag, and my hard work, loyalty, monogamy and stoicism from the pig.

But if you go to exact birthday not just month, mine is the Day of Exacting Precision. Only found out about 7 years ago, but had already recognised it in myself at 15 and called myself (secretly) "genau Bill".

Moniquen, shouldn't you be very conflicted? A Libra Rabbit would be jumping indecisively all over the place, but a Virgo would be reading the train timetable for pleasure while wearing jackboots, wouldn't they?

Well yes it can be a bit of a schitzophrenic experience... usually I find that it manifests itself as 'I have to alphabetise all my CD's but I leave my shoes all over the house and keep finding the car keys in the fridge.'

Does anyone else get the image from the phrase 'metal rabbit' of Ozzy Osbourne wearing bunny ears?

I'll check on my metallic state and get back to you...

Posted by: moniquen at September 18, 2008 6:09 PM

Well I never thought it would come to this. My last post.
But seeing how I have been tainted with the brush, no matter what I say or do in the future, it will never sound the same.
So it is a sad day that I realize that I need to take responsibility for my actions and indeed call a halt to the to the potential hurt that I can cause.
With a little Dutch courage under my belt I bid you all a fair farewell for I no longer feel worthy of such fine company.
If I had one last word of advice; Don't make demands of the person whom was obviously a "toy boy", and made it quite clear that that's all he was, for without the demands he would probably still be there seeking the comfort of the person whom he thought had the wisdom to acknowledge that his actions were simply just that.
Anyway I guess that's just life. Another lesson to be learnt.
And don't worry he will still be able to sing his song with a glitter in his eyes and a dream that in the end he may just find the happiness he was looking for in the first place.

As always with the fondest of love.

Rod xxxxx

You and I have similar life histories, MT, and it leads to similar sorts of personalities, to a degree. But I am not a very artistic creative sort, well not talented enough to be a musician, for example, and not a romantic kind of person either. I'm far too pragmatic. There we differ. And no, I'm not a Leo either.

Moniquen, shouldn't you be very conflicted? A Libra Rabbit would be jumping indecisively all over the place, but a Virgo would be reading the train timetable for pleasure while wearing jackboots, wouldn't they?

I'm a Rabbit too, actually...that explains my great-granny's 17 children I guess..rabbiting must run in the family. But I'm a Metal Rabbit...we make a lot of noise when we move... what kind are you?

Posted by: waterbombe at September 18, 2008 4:40 PM

Oh yes, I'm an astrology agnostic but only when it suits me, Marcus. I'm superficial about it, but only on the surface.

These people I know ARE highly educated yet still check their horrorscopes every morning to see what is going to happen today...at the end of the day they make the days' events fit the predictions ... quite a bit of mental agility required there... good thing the education isn't being wasted. Ha ha.

Posted by: waterbombe at September 18, 2008 4:33 PM

My star sign is nothing like me.

I am supposed to be a leader, and yet I aspire to lead and then retire like a timid pussycat when given the opportunity.

I think I am more passive and inward ,loving and caring,
Aries

An astrology agnostic ffs? Your courage and decisiveness is truly magnificent.
Highly educated and believing in astrology is an oxymoron.
Intelligent people hold stock in the garbage because they started to believe it for unsmart reasons and now have so much invested they cannot stop.
One study on belief in god found people are nine times more likely to attribute their own belief in god to rational reasons that they are other's belief in god which they will attribute to emotional reasons.
Cheers Marcus

Happy Birthday to Kaz( sorry I am late.......now I always look at men's think and wonder if they are "manly").........amouro and anyone else who is having a birthday.

Wow.....what is it with September.........sp many people I know also have birthdays....now lets' see......9 months back...........oh yeh...Xmas and New Year.........people drunk,on holidays and in celebrating modes............

waterbombe at 8:11 AM : And very good on you for all of those characteristics. Go!

Posted by: timewarp1 at September 18, 2008 10:00 AM

I'm not an angry person actually MT. I have one of the highest levels of patience of anyone I know...that's a comment my friends and workmates often make. My life circumstances made that necessary. But I am also one of the first off the block if I spot an injustice or predjudice.......I persist in making bullies or prejudiced people feel uncomfortable and I won't give up and let them dominate...I have seen awful results when ordinary people walk away and bullies win. 'For evil to win, all that good men need to do is nothing'...can't recall atm who I'm quoting but that is SO true.

I think Waterbombe might be a Leo!

Posted by: brilliantblue at September 17, 2008 10:15 PM

MT, what I meant was, if it doesn't make any difference to how you treat me, then it doesn't matter. I'm with Marcus on this ..I think it's irrelevant. (Sort of. Ha ha. I have a bob both ways on this one...I like astrology when it fits, and I disregard it when it doesn't. Very rational of me :-) But I don't make any decisions at all on the basis of it, I think that would be insane. However I have some highly educated friends who do and I am appalled at what reasons they give...I just don't know how anyone could hand over their future like that .

Posted by: waterbombe at September 17, 2008 9:52 PM

I have seen this approachable, hilarious, intelligent side, and the angry, intelligent side.....and I know, you have have seen lots of different sides to me,but I am one person..........

The Geminis I have encountered have been highly intelligent...one a successful Director, and the other very creative writer, even with her MS.(both from Melbourne),and both caring and accepting of my own complex character.

It doesn't matter what star sign.......if I like a person I am not going to say, ummmm, sorry.i don't want to have too much to do with you because you are such and such.

Just a short note before I go.......the person with the mental disease is obviously some type of Sociopath.

Posted by: musicteacher at September 17, 2008 9:41 PM

MT, if you would treat me the way you treat me now (without knowing my star sign), how does it matter what my star sign is? That's the bit I honestly don't get. If it doesn't matter, why do people say it does matter?

And which two sides of me have you seen (I know I'm going to regret asking that question :-)

Posted by: waterbombe at September 17, 2008 8:40 PM

Waterbombe: the way I treat you now.It doesn't/wouldn't surprise me if you are a Gemini....i have seen 2 sides of you,and you are no dummy.Whatever you are........I am sure you are a strong sign, even maybe a Capricorn.a leader.

Posted by: musicteacher at September 17, 2008 8:05 PM

We all carry a great deal of scars on our back, Tassie....you don't get to this stage of life unscathed. A lot of people even have scars from their youth. Today I have had 3 young women I work with (all under 23) tell me that they have huge problems. One has multiple sclerosis, and two have mothers who have just been diagnosed with cancer and are dying. Their mothers are single parents and these girls are nursing their mothers through chemo and doing the parenting of their younger siblings. If some guy fools around with their affections at this time, they could be severely affected....it could be the last straw for them. That's why I don't think it's any excuse to say "I've had a hard life" because the person you damaged may have had an even harder one. Often you can't tell how hard a life they've had ...the scars are intenal ones and you can't see them until you have known them for a while.

Not Scorpio, no, sorry. If we keep going someone will get it just by a process of elimination. But honestly, if your star sign is that important in defining your character, wouldn't it be obvious in my case...I think I've written enough on here for people to know what I'm like. How come the keen astrologers can't pick it?

Tell me, MT, if I said I was a Gemini, how would you treat me?

Posted by: waterbombe at September 17, 2008 7:25 PM

TD - not deliberately hurtful, of that I'm sure. Just someone trying to make their way through life with perhaps a lot to learn - a bit like the rest of us, I suppose.

Posted by: malsie at September 17, 2008 7:22 PM

Malsie
That guy doesn't sound like a very nice fellow at all.

If he is, however, I'm sure he still suffers greatly for any wrongdoings on his behalf.

Then again I imagine he carries the burden of a great deal of scars on his back.

amourmoi, "I also stay away from Aries as they are so hot and cute and attract more bees than honey" - yes, I was involved with one of those once, very intimately. Unfortunately he liked to portray himself as totally single and available, which wasn't quite accurate, to continually attract those "bees" as it fed his ego so - nice for me, not so pleasant for me to observe....

Posted by: malsie at September 17, 2008 3:41 PM

Waterbombe: I can't
take credit for my Mum but I will pass on the gratitude.

One of the first things I ask a person(male or female) is "What is your Star Sign?"

I am a Tiger and on the cusp of Scorpio and Sagittarius.that should not be a surprise to anyone.

I think there is some truth in the characteristics described to signs........and I use my knowledge of a person's sign in my interactions with them.

I did this when I taught students in High School........but I understand there are always exceptions.

I occassionally read Tarot cards, and my mother reads Greek/Turkish coffee cups and cards using two normal decks.........but this IS a cultural thing, and totally accepted!

I have been to 2 clairvoyents in my life and both have been a waste of money.......in my own desperation,I wanted to somehow connect with my little girl who died and would have done anything.

I clash with Leo's and avoid them like the plague!!

Amouri...........we will have to have a special something for you at the Sydney Meet birthday girl!!!

I used to read this advertisement for a clairvoyant who was supposed to be one of the best in the world. It was a picture of a fairly ordinary looking robust middled aged woman who boasted among other things that she had been clairvoyant to Princess Diana. Now to my non romantic mind the thought came.......then why didn't she tell her to stay out of tunnels? I found the advert offensive but this ad appeared week after week and she must have been making money out of it.

My sign is, 'Do Not Disturb'.

twiitteringpoo September 16, 2008 11:22 AM

"My area of interest is astrological psychology. blah blah.. it is just a huge, huge area subject blah bah..."

Yeah, and a huge ripoff populated by flakes, fakes and dangerous, unethical charlatans. It may be a huge area for study if you have been sucked in by it but there is not an iota of evidence, or any rational reason to believe, or even bother investigating, that the position of planets and celestial bodies over 2000 years ago influences our personalities. It is entirely self referential and demonstrably false.
Religion also relies on information from an ancient source (a holy book) yet cannot offer a single piece of evidence for it's central pillar of belief, namely a creator god.
Cheers Marcus

PS. My sign? 'Do Not Disturb'.

Posted by: espritlibrefemme at September 16, 2008 12:04 PM

GB - Medicine and astrology often went hand in hand - often to the detriment of the patient!

Posted by: willow29 at September 16, 2008 11:51 AM

Astrology is highly complex ancient art and goes hand in hand with psychology and was a past time for some of the highest minds in human history, so many that I won't list them here - you've all got google!!

My area of interest is astrological psychology. An individual is soooo much more that just their Sun Sign eg Aries, Cancer etc. you have all the other planets, asteroids, then the angles eg aspects, 12 houses etc - it is just a huge, huge area subject.

Every single person is like a snow flake or a finger print in that there is no other person like them. Unique. There are some exceptions of course eg. twins etc etc.

Astrology usually talks of "trends" not absolutes.

I think that people often speak negatively of astrology from their ignorance, as opposed to an "educated" and "informed" understanding. But it has been like that through history as well.

It is interesting to also note that in history science and astrology often went hand in hand, as it was considered a science. . .not mutually exclusive.

Don't let ignorance dictate truth.

Ok . . . I've said it. . . now give me your best shot. . . : )))))))))))

Star signs? Cancer - homebuilder, family-oriented, tends to be shy, but frumpy - these are summaries of my star sign I have seen. A homebuilder? I have lived a life of a gypsy since birth, having only lived in one house in my life for more then three years, so I don't go with that one. Family-oriented? My family would tell you that I love them but I prefer to be very independent and see them only occassionally - not a babysitter, nor a regular home-visitor, so I can't claim this either. Shy? Get real! Frumpy? Ok, so now I am rolling on the floor laughing...

Other signs mentioned here are the Chinese ones. My sign in the Dragon. Leader, loner, tends to reach out into risky scenarios and takes big chances...Yep, all me, the fire-breathing champion/leader, yep, definitely me....but then it also claims to be a representative of everyone born in the 12 month period that I was born into, and every 12 years of that....don't think so from people I meet.

Popular psychology always appeals....

Happy birthday aunty kaz!!!!!

I'm a Cancer/Leo... Smack bang on the cusp.. Interesting Mix !!!!
I think if we look hard enough we can find some traits of our star signs in ourselves but need to have a proper chart done with birth times, etc, for it to be truly accurate..
Do like the Chinese horoscopes better. They seem to be a lot more accurate for me..

Posted by: waterbombe at September 15, 2008 10:56 PM

Well, I'm a sceptic. If people are so true to their star signs, you should be able to tell us what the star signs of the regular bloggers are...does anyone want to have a go?

What's the star signs (Western or Chinese...either would be interesting) of Grego, Marcus, Jen, H2H, MT, Willow, TW, Auntykaz, Kurli, Perth and me, just for starters? Is anyone game to guess? I haven't checked who has their star sign on their profile... no points for gettig those ones accurate.

I don't believe in this stuff so I'll strike a match in the dark and see how many I get right...be straight with me guys...ok...here we go...

Grego....Capricorn
Marcus ...Libra Fleur
Jen...Cancer
H2H...Leo
MT...Pisces
Willow...a Saggo
TW...Virgo
Auntykaz... I know so I can't guess
Kurli...a Saggo
Perth....Taurus

Posted by: waterbombe at September 15, 2008 8:35 PM

Yes totally, even down to the green eyes. Aquarius, we are all nice people but hard to tie down apparently. I don't think I am hard to tie down, I just don't want to be. Seems simple to me. Do I seem detached, probably sometimes because I am busy building a better life for myself and my family. Do I sweat the small stuff - never ! get over it. Do I take 40 disadvantaged kids to the footy, yeah and love it. Do I drive an expensive car to the soup runs, yeah it's an eye opener. Love my dog, love my cat, love my family, love my friends. Do I understand Mills and Boon, No, except it makes a lot of money for the author.

Junebaby, why cant Aries be on the verge of something big? LOL

Posted by: willow29 at September 15, 2008 8:21 PM

I think most people take what they like out of their horoscope and ignore what they don't.
So having looked at the 2 versions of Pisces below....I know what I'll do...lol

In the chinese horoscope I am a Monkey... I think my dad knew that, his nickname for me when I was a child was monkey!

I suppose I have some of the attributes of both signs :D You'll have to ask someone who knows me to see if it's true ;)

Posted by: aquamanda56 at September 15, 2008 8:03 PM

Hilarious June .. LOL
Seriously I think if you want any clear indication of personality via Horoscopes you should also look at the Chinese Horoscope which goes by year. This year being the Year Of the Earth Rat. The 2 horoscopes together give a clearer picture of the kind of personality you are!

Posted by: waternymph47 at September 15, 2008 7:41 PM

I don't think that my Star sign is always true, but if ppl are interested - there is a scaringly accurate (in the vast majority of cases) personality profile for each day of the year in "the Secret Language of Birthdays' - Gary Goldschneider / Joost Elffers. - Pub. Pengiun Studio.

Relationship and sex horoscopes for 2008...for your perusal and possibly a chuckle....have fun with it...jewels

GEMINI: May 21-June 20
This will be one hell of a year for you, depending on how you start it. Don`t make the same resolutions you never kept in the past. Just think of one or two that you definitely will keep. Sex and romance will be rewarding if you let your intentions be known. You may not normally feel the need to control the direction of your sexual relationships as much as you typically do. You are often willing to lie back and be pleasured in more gentle and loving ways but unless a lover understands that, you may be mistaken for being indifferent or lazy. While you can take your time for languid sex, a slow and steady burn will keep both of you warm throughout the month, so dont feel you dont have to make any effort. A good dose of long, lingering breakfast in bed type of sex each morning will keep both of you glowing throughout the day.
Best breakfast mates: Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Pisces

CANCER: June 21-July 22
All doors are open to you this year - career, domestic and sex. Choose wisely and you will benefit forever. Sex, sex and more sex, are yours this year. When you want something, you want it and you want it right now, this very second. You may not see this as being demanding, but others certainly may. If something seems just out of reach, you may be willing to bend the rules just a bit in order to win. If someone new has appeared on the scene, you would bend over backwards (or forwards, sideways or diagonally) to grab and hold his or her interest, and perhaps even tell a fib or two to make yourself seem more attractive. However, once the flames of desire burn down and you have satisfied your frantic urges, how will you cover your tracks? Its best to be straight up with whoever gets your juices flowing this year otherwise that dream you are reaching out for could evaporate just as quickly as he or she entered your line of vision.
People you shouldnt fib to: Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Pisces

LEO: July 23-August 22
You are on the verge of something big. A member of the opposite sex is attracted to you, but you will be oblivious to the attention. Wake up and have some fun!
Someone seems to be teasing you with many promises but not coming up with the goods. You are used to being the tease so you will wonder how the tables have turned on you. If you can refrain from getting angry and storming out or letting go of something that has the potential to expand your bodys orgasmic knowledge, you may be able to tease and titillate in return. Instead of thinking I must have this hot wench/young stud/sugar daddy/MILF NOW!!, try to remember that if you are patient and play the game, you will have all of that and more in the very near future. This change in thinking will allow you to relax and enter into the fray without your claws bared. The small amount of teasing and tempting will only make the explosion that much more powerful when it finally happens.
People who will tease you right: Aries, Gemini, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius

VIRGO: Aug. 23-Sept. 22
Although you may be unaccustomed to doing so, use your charm on someone who attracts you sexually this year. You have needs that arent being met and you may not know how to ask for what you want. It would be easy if your lover could just read your mind (and you do often assume they can), but something is hindering this process this year. It may take a more physical approach! Shove your pelvis close to your partners mouth and slip a finger in your panties to pull the material aside or grab his or her hand and SHOW them exactly how to touch you in all the right spots. If you waste time being shy, you will find yourself increasingly frustrated, which could lead to arguments and even less sex. Take as much time as you need to expose your most tempting desires to your lover. The more time you spend fulfilling your urges, the more focused you will be on the work at hand.
People to shove your crotch into: Taurus, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Pisces

LIBRA: Sept. 23-Oct. 22
This year will require extra effort just to get ahead a little bit but keep your confidence as sometimes rewards don`t always come straight after putting in the effort. Try some tact when pursuing an attractive member of the opposite sex and you will make it rewarding for the two of you. A nice warm scented bath scattered with rose petals could be just what you need to get you in the mood. You need romance, ego stroking, and someone to pamper you in every way possible this year. Confusion about what to do in your relationships may put quite a damper on your more physical urges for the time being, so explain to your lovers that you need a bit more time to get ready before engaging in extreme bedroom sports. Otherwise, you could hurt yourself and then you really wont want to share your body! If your lover wont feed your mind and stroke your body gently, then it may be better to play on your own for now. After all, theres nothing better than sexy solo bathtime. Warm, water tickling all those sexy places. Oh yes!
Best bath mates: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Pisces

SCORPIO: Oct. 24 Nov. 22
This is the year to determine if you really want to improve your life or just talk about it. Take time to make New Year resolutions work. Good things don`t just happen to you unless you make them happen. Entire weekends can be sexual if that is what you want. Having said that, it will be a slightly odd year for you as well. You will find yourself extremely excited and ready to pounce on just about anything that moves for a while and then, just as suddenly as your body switched into overdrive, it will switch right off again. It could be tricky if you were in the middle of eating out and then you decide you are full and push the food away. It could be even worse if you get dressed and walk out without saying a word! Dont hurt others simply because you are feeling odd. Be as gentle and honest about your feelings as possible. You are confused and could easily pull others into that spiral with you. Some may find the topsy-turvy ride a thrill but some may not take this too kindly so be careful or you could find yourself caught up in more than a mental mind game.
Best people to be odd with: Other Scorpios

SAGITTARIUS: Nov. 22-Dec. 21
You may be thinking you have been ignored, but your efforts will be recognised and rewarded in kind as long as you are patient. Sex is yours for the taking this year, but health considerations should discourage too much of a good thing on the weekends. At times it may seem as if you are dragging your feet in the hot sex department. Although you think about making it happen, your body isnt as excited as it usually is about sex. At times it may seem as if someone just picked up the remote control and hit the off button. Your lover may not be as understanding as you had hoped either, so try to rev up your drive with frequent short trips to places close to home that you can explore with a partner. You may enjoy a naughty session outside in wet grass or in a quiet alleyway in the city. It could be exciting to find new rendezvous places but make sure its private enough that you wont be caught with your pants down!
Best people for outdoor sex: Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Aquarius

CAPRICORN: Dec. 22-Jan. 19
The resolutions you made for the New Year may already be faltering. Just stick to one or two and resolve again to keep them. Your social life could improve if you get out where the action is. Hot, tawdry sex with a stranger or even a quick frisk in a dark closet of a nightclub? You may be hot to trot for much of the month but your interest lies more in the quick, anonymous type of body grinding rather than romantic long-term lovemaking bliss. That being the case, why not get out of the house or office, and actually mingle with a bit wilder crowd than you are used to? If you are in an ongoing relationship, try a swingers club or plan an all night round of the strip clubs in your area. If your lover is of opposite sex, be fair and visit both male and female clubs! Some of you may decide to have some on the side, and thats your prerogative. However, be warned that your secrets may not be quite as hidden as you think they are. Exposure is not only possible, but likely so be careful and be prepared.
Best people to party with: Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Aquarius

AQUARIUS: Jan. 20-Feb. 18
Some people are just jealous of your optimism and good fortune. Don`t put them down, but don`t let them get you down. You will be getting offers for sex, love, marriage and just plain fun, all from an unexpected source. Keep those New Year resolutions for self-improvement in areas of health and education. Now where did you put that pack of vibrating condoms? Dont tell me youve lost them again? Little wonder as your mind is skidding around up in the clouds for much of this year which could put a damper on actually scoring some booty. You may be thinking about sex quite a lot, but thinking may be just about all you do. Perhaps you are trying to work your way into a potential lovers pants and havent quite made it yet or perhaps your current partner looks a little worn and frazzled about the edges and you just wouldnt feel right asking him or her to give you the excitement you are craving? Did you pull out double-ended dildo at a bad moment again? I am sure your lover will get over it in time so be patient, play with yourself, and when the time is right, all of those fantasies you are having will become oh so real.
Best people to share sex toys with: Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces and Aries

PISCES: Feb. 19-March 20
Your foot could be in your mouth if you don`t stop and consider the person you are speaking with. Give yourself an edge by listening and observing. Great fun is yours this year and you will find booty in the most unexpected places. This time of year usually includes resolutions that you may or may not keep. For your own self-esteem, keep the resolutions simple and then do them. You can make more at any time. Cooperation should be your keyword this week and next. Like a slippery sex toy lost in the bathtub, you may be just as difficult to catch this year. Someone may want to tie you up and pin you down, but you are more in the mood to be the dominant hunter in 2007. Your sexual activity will be your call and you wont have anyone else telling you what to do or who to do it with, or how many you should do it with at any one moment. If you want to indulge yourself with two or three kinky partners, you will, whether together or separately. You can handle either situation now and with a finesse and sense of mystery that will have them all eager to come back for more.
Best sex mates to have all at once: Virgo and Scorpio

ARIES: March 21-April 20
Powerful urges are rising up from within and you may have a greater need to be in full control of any sexual relationship you are in this year. Dominance and submission games will be your ultimate turn-on so you may need to find a new slave (Aries is always the master) this year, if you have not already. If you have BDSM gear, you will use it in the near future. If you dont, it may be time to make an investment. Remember though, a firm touch and stern command can be exciting, but extreme pain isnt a turn on for most so go easy on your slave.
Best potential slaves: Gemini, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius

TAURUS: April 20-May 20

Your sexual relationships may take on a grappling or even grasping quality this year. You will certainly be more touchy-feely and those around you may wonder what has gotten into you. You may demand more attention than is usual for you, perhaps impinging on your lovers desire to have a bit of time to his or herself. Dont ask for more than a partner can give or begin to crowd into their space. If you want to have a year of plentiful skin-on-skin contact, be patient with yourself and your partner. Tease yourself and your partner and save the best touches for when you cant take it any longer. Then learn the ability to fully let go and enjoy spontaneous orgasms.

Best people to touch: Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces.

P.S. I'd love to know which site you got this info from, they truely deserve a BrickBat.
Sadly a tiny bit of fact is then interwoven with a fair bit of c**p.
Lots of people, when studied are indeed very true to their 'star sign'

YOU AND ME BOTH JENJEN but its along way to commute from here.....

Posted by: unknownauthor at September 15, 2008 6:24 PM

Aquarius (Jan 23 - Feb 22) - You have an inventive mind and are inclined to be progressive. You lie a great deal. You make the same mistakes repeatedly because you are stupid. Everyone thinks you are a jerk.

Pisces (Feb 23 - Mar 22) - You are a pioneer type and think most people are morons. You are quick to reprimand, impatient, and full of advice. You do nothing but p***-off everyone you come in contact with. You are a p****.

Aries (Mar 23 - April 22) - You have a wild imagination and often think you are being followed by the FBI or CIA. You have minor influence on your friends and people resent you for flaunting your power. You lack confidence and are a general dips**t.

Taurus (April 23 - May 22) - You are practical and persistent. You have a dogged determination and work like hell. Most people think you are stubborn and bullheaded. You are nothing but a communist.

Gemini (May 23 - June 22) - You are a quick and intelligent thinker. People like you because you are bisexual. You are inclined to expect too much for too little. This means you are a cheap b******. Geminis are notorious for thriving on sleazy behaviour.

Cancer (June 23 - July 22) - You are sympathetic and understanding of other people's problems, which makes you a sucker. You are always putting things off. That is why you will always be on welfare and won't be worth a s**t. Everyone in prison is a Cancer.

Leo (July 23 - Aug 22) - You consider yourself a born leader. Others think you are an idiot. Most Leos are bullies. You are vain and cannot tolerate criticism. Your arrogance is disgusting. Leo people are thieving jerks and enjoy solo sex.

Virgo (Aug 23 - Sept 22) - You are the logical type and hate disorder. Your s**t-picking attitude is sickening to your friends and co-workers. You are cold and unemotional and often fall asleep during sex.. Virgos make good bus drivers and pimps.

Libra (Sept 23 - Oct 22) - You are the artistic type and have a difficult time dealing with reality. Chances for employment and monetary gain are nil. Most Libra women are sl**s. All Libras die of venereal disease.

Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 22) - You are the worst of the lot. You are shrewd in business and cannot be trusted. You shall achieve the pinnacle of success because of your total lack of ethics. You are the perfect son-of-a *****. Most Scorpios are murdered.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 - Dec 22) - You are optimistic and enthusiastic. You have a reckless tendency to rely on your luck since you have no talent. You are a worthless piece of s**t.

Capricorn (Dec 23 - Jan 22) - You are conservative and afraid of taking risks. You are basically chickens**t. There has never been a Capricorn of any importance.
