Sports.jpg
Instead of joining the weigh loss club of 2008 this New Years, why not get a head start and lose some weight before the new years kicks in? While the holidays can be a challenging time to cut back on the calories, there are still a few ways to keep your metabolism in high gear and even lose a few pounds during the festivities.

A few extra trips to the gym, some strategic food choices at the holiday buffet and some simple goal-setting is all it takes to enjoy a 'fat-free' holiday season! Is this as easy as it sounds? Is it possible to maintain or lose weigh during the holiday season? How do you manage it?

RATE YOUR DATE?

iStock_11.jpg
It is interesting to think of dating as a rating game but that is precisely what we do when we are looking for the one person to make our own. We rank them on their physical beauty, their education, on their personality, their wealth and on their compatibility. The higher we rank in each of these categories the more attractive of a partner we become.

Each of these categories can be traded for another category. For example, a woman with an attractive level of 9, might trade her looks for a man with a wealth status of 9. Likewise, a woman with a low educational status might be willing to sacrifice on the personality rank of her mate. Each innately knows what they can bargain with. What kinds of things do you rate on the opposite sex? What are you willing to trade when it comes down to dating? How important is it for some of these numbers to be high? Or How far down are you willing to go to find that someone?

TRAVELLING GREEN!

Travelling Green
The airline industry's rapid growth over the last several years has made long-distance travel more accessible to us now than ever before. The downside of course is the more we travel, the more we increase our carbon footprint.

When you plan a vacation that involves boarding a plane, do you consider what you can do to minimise the impact of your travel on the planet? Do you make any travel decisions based on the impacts of the environment? Have you ever been on an Ecotourism holiday?

FRIEND OR LOVER?

Is dating a friend too much of a risk
We have seen the Ross and Rachel (Friends), Dawson and Joey (Dawson's Creek) time after time. Friend likes friend. Friend eventually finds out. Friends date. But in real life it seems the relationship usually ends up sore and friendship is often compromised. Most people are often left wondering if it was truly worth it in the end. Is it okay to date a friend, or is it too big a risk to take?

The Cost of Dating

iStock_000004109233XSmall--.jpg

The cost of dating is skyrocketing and out of control. Theatre and sporting event tickets can cost anyone over three hundred dollars. If you add dinner and drinks there goes another two hundred. It is foolish to drive with a few drinks in you so an expensive cab fare to your place or hers is a must.

If you are lucky the evening will end in either her or your bedroom. When you wake up in the morning and look at what's left in your wallet you will wonder where the hangover is coming from. This is the cost of dating nowadays. How much should a first date cost? Does it depend on who the date is?
